Rajat try the Google News instead with keywords like " India Brisbane " and u will find links to all the news articles about India Team in Australian websites.

Quite a few Delhiians are on this site :O . Hey Amit, heard from one of my friends that Delhi has improved greatly in the last few years due to CNG, reduced traffic congestion and the Wal-Mart's ,etc,. It's great news then. With CWG, it is going to improve even more.

Well...I was at Allan Border field today to see the last gave of Qld Academy v India.

Some things I would like to point out:

1) India were very ordinary in the field.

They looked flat and already sick of being in Australia. There is one thing that every team no matter how good their batsman or bowlers are need to do and that is field well. India need to take all their catches and cut off as many runs as they can if they even want to think about being competitive. Feilding needs to improve 100%.

2) Indian bowling was flatttttt

I did get there late about 11, an hour after the day started. From what I saw Kumble looked okay, but Balaji didn't look like taking a wicket until Hartley flashed at one. Nobody troubled Carseldine, he never looked like getting out. Hence two centuries.

3) Although they only got 4-12? they did show some promise with the bat.

Shewag only faced about 7 balls and his defense looked good, but he needs to get forward alot more if he wants to score runs in Australia. His LBW may not have been given if he played forward, but to his credit it did keep low.

Ramesh is the one who looks good for mine, he is moving onto the front foot early and looks to pick up singles (he actually got Ganguly running quick ones).

For all that has been said about Ganguly he looked solid and was unlucky to be given out (he did stand there staring at the umpire for half a minute). He was driving really well, especially the cover drive, could have got alot more runs if he played the pull shot.

Dravid looked alot more positive today then what he appeared in Victoria (although I didn't see, just going by what was said on baggygreen.com. au for game against Vic). He mixed caution with controlled aggression. I was talking to my friend about how he should stop ducking under the continual barrage of short balls and play the pull shot - and BAM two overs later he played one of the better shots I have ever seen in my life! A beautifully played pull shot.

The Indians did stop the game 1/2 hour early as there was no result likely, but I think they should have batted out the extra 1/2 hour as Dravid was hitting some superb shots and Ramesh was looking good (he actually never looked like getting out).

Ramesh has put a strong case forward for inclusion, so it will be a tough one for the selectors. Sehwag offers an extra bowling option and Chopra is a bit like Ganga in his early career - great technique and defense, but just can't get it off the square. So for mine it would be:

Ramesh
Sehwag
Dravid
Tendulkar
Ganguly (c)
Lasman
Patel (wk)
Agarkar
Harbajan
Khan
Nehra

Great Report Wright. Funny how things change. Ramesh was expected to struggle on the Aussie Wickets with his technique but it seems he has worked on his game and changed to a solid player from the attacking player he was. The fielding & keeping should be improved if India has to compete. In both the matches, they missed quite a few catches and a couple of stumpings.

Yeah...I was a bit disapointed I didn't get to see my favourite Indian batsman Laxman bat, but it was still a good day.

I think the Indians will make a big mistake if they don't pick Ramesh. He, by far looked the best of the batsman and was driving superbly which will be important.

Ramesh seems to be the only guy going out there and really focusing and gritting it out.. if the rest of the team can then there's hope.

Otherwise it's going to be murder.

Amits - there's a line between patriotism and delusion, mate :)

optimism is fine, i guess. Im optimistic deep down in my heart, but the thing is there is optimism, and there is fantasy.

Amit my friend, your living in a fantasy world if you think India can beat Australia in Australia 3-1. Do you remember 1999/00?

The number one ranked team against the number six ranked team, who haven't won a test series outside of India for over a decade. India have got no chance in hell.

Miracles do happen, and a drawn series in my eyes will be a miracle. Ganguly and Sehwag won't do well at all here. Nehra and Khan and Agarkar will be smashed to all parts. Balaji won't take a wicket, neither will Kumble or Harbhajan. This leaves Laxman, Tendulkar and Ramesh.

Ramesh won't be the messiah we are looking for, Laxman by the law of averages against Australia is bound to fail, Sachin can't score 300 runs every time he bats.

...And you're saying India will win, start doing your rain dance Amit, because only rain will be India's saviour on this tour.

India really only have one hope in winning at the Gabba. They must pray that there is some moisture in wicket and then must bowl first. If they can get some early breakthroughs and keep the momentum going it is their only chance.

However there has not been much rain in Brisbane lately so a traditional Gabba pitch should await them. Therefore there will be moisture for the first session then a flat track for the rest of the match. I predict an Australian win in 4 days.

What on Earth has happened to Virender Sehwag? When he came onto the international scene a few years back he came with big wraps. Some people were saying he is almost as good as Tendulkar. I heard Tony Greig say his favourite batsman to watch was Sehwag. I haven't seen an awful lot of him at the crease, just heard people's opinions of him change so drastically. Howcome he can't get a score going anymore?

He scored 130 in his last test match. He's only played 16 test matches and has 4 hundreds and 4 fifties and an average of 41.96. That's not a record to match Tendulkar, but not too bad.

Yeah but it was in the 50s before he started opening...

I was referring to even more recent performances. I know he got a century in India's last match against NZ in the TVS cup, but before then he was a complete bunny. But what really surprises me is that he hasn't put a respectable score up against the Victorians or the QAS. That's shocking.

Sehwag reminds me alot of Jayasuriya.
Very inconsistent, but when he get's going he'll score big & basically rip any attack apart...the big scores will save him from a poor average..but in time I think like Jayasuriya his test average will drop to around 32-35.

whoops stupid me relying on my brain to recall stats...I mixed up his ODI & Test averages..in ODI's Sanath averages around 32. (i think)

What I was trying to suggest was that...Sehwag will always be inconsistent..for every 1 out of 4 innings, he'll produce a big innings and that'll keep his records reasonably sound.

Then if iti s likely to be a typical Brisbane wicket, then india should bat first.

Play defensively for the first sesson or so and when it improves for battiing then let rip, this after all a weakish Australian bowling line-up and India should realise that.

I think India should ignore what their fans think and go out there and play their natural game and believe in themselves that they can beat Australia. They should also look at Bangladesh when they came here, expecially at Darwin where IMO I dont think anybody could say they disagraced themselves where in fact many were praising some of their players.

MB by you attitude I get the picture that India might as well go home right now?

Dont use the word 'will' as nothing in most cases is truely definate.
