Brilliant stuff from Tendulkar and India! Not your typical Tendulkar innings but a quality one nonetheless. That must've taken some mean determination! :wow:

In fact this is his first really bad streak and if he is the champion I think he is, he will fight his way out of it in style.
See what I mean! Ok it wasn't very stylish, but hasn't it been an effective innings so far? To play such an innings when you are struggling for runs against the best team in the world in their backyard, that's the mark of a true champion! I repeat, he will never be the supporting cast in any lineup!

I really like this kid, Parthiv! Gutsy as hell and not afraid to stand up to any attack, a good 'keeper already, he is still so young that he can only get better! He has all the makings of a wonderful cricketer! All the best to you, young Patel!

650-5 at the end of day 2. Realistically India should declare now and give themselves 3 full days to attack Australia, but they could very well bat for an hour or so tomorrow to further solidify their position.....the result of this match is still too far away to predict and I feel a typical gutsy innings from Steve Waugh in his last test is on the way......that would be typical of the man...but an Indian loss is more or less out of the question unless the Aussies really bat out of their skins and then the Indians collapse dramatically or something....don't really see that happening, but then cricket is a funny game...you have to be prepared for anything.....as of now, the only 2 possibilities are a draw or an Indian victory...

Brett Lee bowled 2-3 excellent inswinging yorkers - granted.

But apart from that, he was largely unimpressive.
Gillespie was very good as usual. Bracken was ok - but not very penetrative. THe murmurs of discontent over Nathan's inclusion over Matthew Inness will only grow IMO. I personally think Bracken might be better with the white ball than with the red.
McGill was simply mastered by two brilliant batsmen.

It will be interesting to see how the match unfolds from here -- I suspect Ganguly will bat for an hour in the morning and then declare.
The real question is how the pitch will behave. If It starts to crack up, Kumble will be very dangerous indeed.
India will have to bowl very well to make history, that's for sure.

Sachin normally never allows his fellow batsman to overtake him while playing together. This is interesting to see Laxman races to reach sachin's level and then sachin jumps a bit further ahead of that and the game goes on....:D :D
It is called a partnership...

I think if Tendulkar and Patel get off to a good start tomorrow India will bat well into the second session, Tendulkar could even have a crack at the world record...

Ganguly will seriously be thinking about what Steve Waugh would want to do the least in his last test match, lose or for India to bat all five days.

I certainly hope this doesn't turn out to be a boring draw with heaps of runs scored.

It would be nice for a change to see the World Champions having to fight hard for their runs to stave off defeat.
I have not seen that in a home test since Perth 2001.

I think India will bat for 1 1/2 hour tomorrow and get 750 and try to bowl 6-7 overs at the Aussies before lunch. It would be perfect but with the Indian tail it is unpredictable whether they will get that many.

This series is turning out to be an aniclimax for Steve waugh.
He must be wondeing that its always india which comes between him and his dreams.
he had a dream of winning the series in India. The australians came too close to that in the 2001 India tour, but victory just crept out of their hands.

This series with India was meant to be a tribute to steve waugh.
But that could not happen, as australia wont win the series

In my opinion, the aussies will succumb under pressure in this test match and lose the series.

3 days is helluva of a time, isnt it.
By the way, where has amit disappeared.

His predictions are really coming true.

That's quite true. I feel somewhat sorry for him.

But I feel less sorry for him than I feel happy for India :P

Lees rythm seems to have been upset since the time where he got the edge turned down, then the catch behind off a noball and the dropped catch. than he started bowling lots of no balls than and this morning he changed his run, which screwed him, coming back abit now will have to see how he goes now, hopefully better. Tendulkar and Laxman could have afforded to attck a little more during their partnership, they could have been another 50 in front by now
Ok so Lee's rythem has been upset so what as far as I am concerned his problem is he just does not bowl enough good length balls.

If Lee had not bowled so many poor dilivery's at the start of today's play we may have been able to slow the inning's down and build some pressure but instead he offerd run's for Laxman to take and he did basicly releving any pressure that Gillespie was creating at the other end.

It also took alot of pressure of Sachin because Laxman was scoring so freely. Tendulkar who was stuck having to face Gillespie did not feel the pressure of not scoring because Laxman was creaming Lee allover the place.

Our bowling (Australia's) has been so bad this series accept for Gillespie who always bowls like a warrior.

I cant see this match ending in anything but a draw unless the Australian batsman totaly lose the plot or the pitch suddeny changes dramaticly.

Every Indian batsman has faced more than 100 balls in this innings other than Dravid who faced 82 balls in making his 38. I think that's pretty much batting Australia out of the game!
3 days to go though, so how do India play this?

Bat on or declare overnight?

i have said previously that his rythm was nowhere today, having said that, there are only 10 good balls per innings, 5 have been bowled so far and he has 2 of them
Expect Richard will have something to say about that.

A lot of bowlers bowl very good balls and don't get rewarded with wickets.

Also pies do get wickets.
