Couldn't defend 197? What happened to the Aussies? I would have thought they would win this series 3-0. But then again, there is a lot of inexperience in the team. I am not sure Travis Head end Kawaja are international standard. I would like to have seen Stoinis in the T20 side in there somewhere.

T20s can be a great leveller. While WI are currently dismal in tests, average in ODIs, they have every chance of winning the World T20 in a few months.

Trust me, they have every chance of winning it, as they showed in Sri Lanka not too long ago. It just requires one good innings, one or two misfields and the game is right in the balance again. Sydney Thunder went from losing pretty much everything the first few years to winning it this.

I know it's one of those things that serious fans especially the ones on CW don't like to talk about because it's hard to analyse it or quantify it. But players both former and current keep talking about it all the time - momentum.

I don't know what it means because I have not played this game at a professional level, but I think 5th ODI really turned things around for India in terms of confidence and energy.

I think with most bilateral ODI series, you feel it could have gone either way, whether it was the NZ-Eng or Eng-Aus or Ind-SA or now Ind-Aus. All 4 games, India were in positions from where they could win, made mistakes, lost the crucial moments and lost the game. It finally worked for them in the 5th ODI and since then the bowling has improved.

In all the 3 T20s, the spinners have taken wickets and once Indian spinners start picking up wickets, they are an absolutely dangerous side with that top order.

So India back to being the top favourites for the World T20.

I mean sure but none of the bowlers that bowled today other than Watson and Maxwell would even get a bowl in a full-strength side. In fact it's arguable they would get a bowl in a second string side tbh.

Jesus, Stoinis was awful for the Stars.
This is coming from a bloke who doesn't think Khawaja is international standard, after the summer he's had.

I mean, I'm not Ussie's biggest fan on here, but FMD he's proven himself worthy of selection right now beyond any doubt whatsoever.

For an actual WC, Haze and Patto might be ahead of them too. In addition to at least Cummins, Starc, NCN

I didn't watch the game but I'm absolutely stoked Watson did so well in his rightful position of opener (and captain ). It should cement his spot in the squad at least but he really is so much better as an opener in limited overs cricket than he is anywhere else, so here's to Finch retiring or something.
