Fantastic effort yet may I have help

I'm really excited about the editor for icc2002.

I have average computer skills.

Would someone kindly, when they have time.

List the steps you have to take to get the editor working?

I did go to page 14 on the posts.

I have read previous posts. I'm still having trouble.

Ok big bug Neil.

After using the editor almost EVERY player in the game has had there bowling avrage pushed down to like 5 or something most time's it is in all form's of the game as well.

This includes players I have not touched at all.

here is a screen shot so you know what I mean..

To the no date problem:

Go to Settings, Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, and set that to English (United Kingdom) instead of what you might have. Should fix it.

I think I know the answer to that one...something might have gone wrong in the saving which causes ICC to read every bowler's skill as 00 instead of what it should be (low numbers are good)

Edit: No, it's not that...it's the career wickets that gets recorded wrong. It will even out over a few seasons, nothing to do with bat-skill...my best guess is that something's wrong with the way magpie saves balls and wickets in the FC stats.

Interesting one.

It's got nothing to do with the way that it saves abilities - that's just a problem with career records. I get the feeling that I've coded the way that it saves wickets taken a bit badly - I'll have a look later.

Not sure what the problem with the dates is - it works on my setup.

I've noticed a problem concerning bowlers. I made Harmison top ability. I also made a few other changes. I saved the changed database and launched the game. I then noticed, that some of the bowlers I'd edited changed to the opposite arm (e.g. RF to LF) and virtually bottom ability despite making them top ability.

I noticed the reason it may do this. Each time you save a database, encrypt, then decrypt, then open the db again, the bowling abilities (possibly the batting as well) increases by one unit. Not sure why this shoul be. anyone else have a similar problem?

Another problem

I changed some batsmen to top ability.

When I reopened Magpie the batting ability had been set to zero!!

Tried with several people - seems to do the same every time

The dates problem is a consequence of Windows converting dates to hex numbers differently depending on the regional settings. At least, I reckon so.

Getting the same prob, I added my self to the game and when I start a new season with warks Pollock has a avg of 4 something in all forms of the game

OK, several bugs found and fixed

* Got rid of those daft wickets figures. Averages are now sensible again
* Top batting ability no longer results as zero
* You can make keepers into non-keepers
* The bowlers changing arms bug (which was a much bigger issue of bad code) is now gone

Keep finding bugs for me...
