Great catch by Bairstow, he does those often though, misses regulation stuff all the time too 🙄

Aussies looking for 350, we are looking at under 320 and batting well. Should be a good day. Bringing Anderson back failed. Last game?
Doubt it as he’s earned a farewell

I might be wrong but it doesn’t look like he’s lost much nip but has been relatively inaccurate by his standards

Not wild but just a fraction short or full of a perfect length for taking wickets

No idea how Joel Wilson got where he is now. I'm sure he is a good bloke and best of luck to him but **** me he is so incompetent at his job he makes Dharmablahblah looks like Taufel

Next year might be the place to do the farewell. He can play against the West Indies & Sri Lanka, get his 700 wickets, play at Old Trafford one more time.

Everyone's on his case, but he could have easily had a couple of good wickets and then no one would be saying anything. I don't think he's been great, particularly by his standards and they should have played Tongue here, but he didn't bowl badly yesterday.

I thought Anderson was probably England's second best bowler yesterday, just didn't get much luck. Woakes clearly the best, but Broad was generally pretty poor and Wood not overly threatening.

Anderson has bowled fairly well for the most part this series I think but just not had the breaks going his way. His over with the new ball yesterday was the perfect example, got a massive inside edge from Starc that only narrowly missed leg-stump. Could have easily had 2-40 odd yesterday if he'd had a bit of luck.

Unless it's a one off test you are probably looking at a double farewell with Broad next summer if Anderson prolongs his career for another year.

I thought Anderson was unlucky yesterday, bowled accurate enough for most of his spells whereas Broad got a couple of wickets while at times bowling rubbish.

I don't think anyone would begrudge them having a double farewell.

Woakes and Anderson were the only two who actually bowled well regularly yesterday.

Looking forward to another 40 from Aus and then some [attempted] fireworks from England today
Yeah, I think England really have to go hard today. They'll want to be bowling again tomorrow lunchtime I suspect to have any hope of a result. A quick 250 and an hour tonight wouldn't even be the worst thing.

Calling it now, Stokes will declare half hour before stumps today (no matter the score)

Only chance for England to take 20 wickets as Saturday and Sunday very dodgy weather

As others have said (on Anderson): Simply unlucky not to pick up a wicket or two. I think the rather simple judgment by scorebook fails here.
I haven't seen yesterdays 2nd spell, but did watch his 1st, 3rd & 4th spell (and the one over at the end). And that's what you want to see from any test bowler.
Apart from (not) taking wickets, he did massively contribute on applying pressure. Far better than 'holding one end up'.

The old horse hasn't stopped running yet!
