Wasn't a penalty for mine. Still overturning a 2 goal deficit against Atletico is an herculean task.

Ronaldo rules the CL knockout rounds with an iron fist. No idea how he keeps doing this.

What the hell happened to Bayern's youth system anyway?

You look at the team which won the Champions League in 2013 and the core of that side (Lahm, Alana, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Müller, Badstuber to an extent before injuries ruined him) were all Bayern academy players who knew the club through and through.

I think Emre Can is the most high profile player I can think of in the last few years to come through their system, and he barely played for Bayern.

What's the fewest number of group winners who have got through the round of 16? 4/8 quarter finalists being group winners seems low.

Michael Owen just said Liverpool out of the 4 qualified English sides had the toughest last 16 tie on paper,,,what a ****.

I hope we get two all English quarters. I hate it when there's too many sides from the same country in the latter stages.

I don't disagree with him.

Man City - a team who are relegation candidates this season in the Bundesliga
Man Utd - mentally weak serial bottlers
Spurs - young side with no European pedigree who are in dreadful form
Liverpool - serial winners who have been in great domestic form since the turn of the year.

BT pushing this pish narrative that Robertson has been hard done by.

Blatant yellow and he'd been fouling all game.

Good game. It's borderline sad to see Bayern that bad. That's not to say Liverpool under-performed or anything, but the only times they looked decent were at the start and immediately after scoring. They never looked like overturning the away goal fully. Amusingly enough, Neuer said on the build up that they felt VVD was a set piece threat.
