I don't even think Liverpool played that well, which is a damning indictment of how bad Bayern were.
They didn’t pass the ball brilliantly but were so, so physically dominant and well-organised. Henderson going off gave them such a boost.

First Mane goal was so so good too.

Haha I did think to myself at the time that Henderson getting injured wasn't a bad thing.

I'm not suggesting Liverpool weren't well worth the win on the night, I just don't think they played particularly well.

Bayern are pretty good.

A good away CL performance always looks like a bad performance by the home team. I could repeat exactly the same things I said when we lost at home to PSG.

Bayern are both past their best and still a reasonably good side - Liverpool are better though.

Whilst I agree with UC that a good CL away performance is always going to make it look like a poor home performance, it doesn't follow that all poor home performances are the result of a good away performance. I don't think either side played to their potential last night.

Yeah Arsenal's home performances in CL knockout games over the last...nearly a decade, are testament to this.

Big win. Biggest upset of this round - Ajax-Madrid, Utd-PSG, or Juve-Atletico?
Probably Utd v PSG I would say, all things considered.

Juve v Atletico was not really what I would call an upset, and Ajax v Madrid whilst prima facie suprising, perhaps wasn't as surprising as is being made out, given how dire Real have been this year, and how quietly really handy Ajax have been.

United vs PSG was the biggest shock both over the two legs and after the first leg had been played too, IMO.

Juve vs Atletico isn't a shock over the two legs - just two well matched teams. Juve going through was quite a lot of a surprise after the first leg, but not quite the same as coming back vs a far better team having lost at home.

We're a better team than Ajax but not by as much as PSG are a better team than Real Madrid.

Who does everyone want in the next round? I’m mostly just hoping to avoid the other English teams. More fun playing someone you don’t normally face.

Also going out to Liverpool would be too much.

Odds on that at least 1 of the ties will be an all-English affair surely.

Utd v Liverpool would have a lot of lols potential, so I am probably hoping for that.

A fun probability problem to work out the chances that they all avoid each other. Answer is 8/35 FTR.

Yeah, I'm hoping to avoid the English teams. At the same time I'm hoping to avoid Barcelona because of the internet "banter" of it. Ajax vs Liverpool could make for a good game.

Edit: I'd also want to avoid Juve more than anyone for obvious, serious, reasons.

I think we'd be favourites against Porto or Ajax and they're the only two teams I think that's true of. Tottenham the best draw of the rest, tbf I'd make us pretty close to being favourites vs them too, but not quite.

How great would all-English semis be (if we got Spurs)

Porto or Ajax would be the nicer draws, I'd take Roma or Spurs. Though considering most of our cup draws this year we'll get a La Liga dream XI.
