Counter-intuitive 'win percentage' stats are pulled out of so many arses so often that I can only include that they're almost entirely useless.

Rodgers is a huge figure of fun and easy to feel contempt towards because he's so full of **** and so far up his own arse. But he's a class above old school motivators like Lennon or Sherwood, which will probably be good enough for Celtic.

Bad time to take the job though, I feel like it can only go wrong. What could he realistically achieve that would enhance his reputation?

Exactly, it can only be European success but Lennon did that (in admittedly easier circumstances) and his reward was the Bolton job. I know Rangers coming back makes it a bit more interesting but I just don't know why someone at his stage of career would want to go to Scotland.

Weird comparison. His win percentage at Liverpool is also better than Jurgen Klopp's win percentage at Liverpool.

Edit: Tbh I would've liked him to get the England job after the Euros.
Really? That being said, I'm struggling to recommend Hodgson's successor, whenever that might happen.

Jobs like this are about reputation in a way. Rodgers probably wants a decent mid-table EPL job (like most managers around the world that can't get a top club) which he clearly hasn't been offered. He probably thinks Celtic are likely to win championships and get into the CL. It will keep his reputation above water since his Liverpool days and when the time comes he'll move back when the offer is right.

As long as it's not ****ing Pardew
Not a chance this summer after our 2nd half of the season.

As for Howe - maybe likelier after the next WC rather than this year's euros?

I know I'm in a minority here, but I really wouldn't want Hodgson to call it a day after the euros, almost however well or badly they go.

I think he probably will stay on. It's kind of hard to see how he could fail any harder than he did in Brazil, and there was barely even any question of him losing his job after that. Expectations aren't as low as they were then but they're still pretty low.

Foreigner again?

The list of English managers who could do the job is pretty limited. Think as long as we get out of the group that Woy will keep the job for the World Cup as he can say he is progressing with a young side. Maybe in 2 years time Howe or Dyche or some other young English manager will have a record that makes them a decent candidate, if Woy goes in the summer we have BFS, Pardew or Redknapp. Whoopee.

Yeah think it would need something dire such as not getting out the group or a really bad second round loss. I am actually fairly optimistic about England this tournament as well, got a good draw, semi-finals might be possible.

My lot make their first signing of the summer and it is a bloke called Lancashire. Not sure I will ever sing a song about him unless he is rubbish and will enjoy giving him loads of grief.

Strange (bad word but it'll do) how an apparently always been fit bloke like David Ginola ends up with a life saving quadruple by-pass at 49, yet an accident waiting to happen like his sometime co-presenter Alan Brazil enters his late 50's with a clean bill of health. Alan Brazil is also the worst presenter of all time, but that's beside the point.

I have a bit of a soft spot for Brazil just through his commentary on classic TRFC moments that I often go to on YouTube when football is getting me down (95% of the time)

His presenting isn't great but I'm sure there are worse on talksport.

I have a sneaking admiration for Brazil, drinks all day rocks up at work with no prep about 5 minutes before the show, and somehow manages to present his show.

Obviously wouldn't listen to the ****ing bore, and his prehistoric views on everything from depression to forn players and managers.

Oh and without a doubt "the Sportsbar" is by miles the worst show on talkshite, two puerile no nothings shouting out contrary nonsense trying to wind up people without even the mild wit of Durham to make it seem like a semblance of a proper argument. Oh and their attempts at being funny.

Is this new Arse signing any good? I like it when you lot get over-excited before the inevitable let-downs.

Which one is the sports bar, when is that on? Can't remember if I've listened to it
It's on at 10 on a weekday, you've probably listened to it because Noel Gallagher has been on a lot.

Goldstein and Cundy, urgh. I think it just angers me, because it's a slot, depending on my shift, that I would like to listen too after matches, either on my way or home from work, but I just can't listen to it for more than 5 minutes.

Cundy is for the ears what his tart of an ex is to your eyes. Goldstein thinks he is funny but isn't. Combined it is like nails down a blackboard.

Sums it up that i'd rather listen to Adrian Durham than them.
