I've heard it was more to do with his wage demands. Don't worry, Arsene has his eyes on someone better. :)

I hope

Yeah he [Vieira] was your archetype box-to-box midfielder. Strong defensively, usually good physically, but someone who would also bomb forward and the type who'd need to play alongside a holding midfielder who'd stay back at all times. A lot of Vieira types are wrongly suggested as DMs, and subsequently, possible Arsenal signings, particularly if they're black. Arsenal are looking for a new Gilberto much more than a new Vieira.
This also explains why that Vidal to Arsenal rumour refuses to go away. Like Khedira the year before it.

People actually think Wenger is going to damage Ramsey and Wilshere's Arsenal careers to sign an ageing workhorse with a dodgy knee #lolz

I wonder how Chesney will respond to being demoted to understudy.

Hopefully positively; he's never really had the chance to spend any prolonged period working under a keeper who is legit top bracket. Probably will do him heaps of good if he knuclkles down.

Perhaps more likely will be more smoking-in-the-showers type incidents.

I've heard Cech's coach is coming as well. The guy began coaching him before his Chelsea days, so it should help him you'd hope.

Haha bragging about signing players is such an Arsenal fan thing. Everyone else either brags about trophies or doesn't brag at all.

Haha I don't see many Spurs fans pull that kind of thing, although the club does love issuing commemorative DVDs after draws in meaningless fixtures. At least that's actual football though.

It's like the SPEND SPEND SPEND A4 sheets. I don't think I've seen that anywhere but the Emirates. It's like buying famous players is an end in itself.

Although better that the fans think that way than that the club does, as is the case at United.

Haha, I guess, but what I was really alluding to was the fact that their fans seem to brag about everything under the sun, but yet obviously have no trophies of which to speak. I think they, of all teams, serve as a decent example that it's not really true to claim fans as a general rule brag about trophies or nothing at all.

Well I think some of the particular attitudes of Arsenal fans are extreme because they felt we didn't really make enough big signings for an extended period. The A4 banners, and even the people who get hyped up over every potential transfer, regardless of the cost, whether the player would be a good fit, etc, are obviously cringe. But I don't think there's anything wrong with being happy when your club signs a player you like, enjoy watching and think will significantly improve you side. Even more so when you know it's boiling the blood of loads of rival fans.
