I feel bad but Blackpool being a mess means we should only have to better than two clubs to stay up.

Just read a bit about Blackpool and it is a right ****ing mess with much of the blame lying with the FA as the majority owner is a convicted rapist who appears to have stripped the club

Furthermore,a significant shareholder is an alleged money-launderer for a dodgy dictator

How the hell do they pass the fit and proper test?

To be fair to the FA he was already the owner when he was convicted of rape and it was years before the fit and proper checks came in. Not sure how they can take a club off someone who already owns it. Is he any worse than the guy who used to own Chester City and ruined them?

Did they not just do exactly this in the NBA? It's possible.

Massively different tbh. The way the NBA, and most American sports, are run is entirely different to the setup we have here. You may not be wrong, but I would be surprised if the FA has the legal authority to do this sort of thing.

Fair enough. Just seems odd you could bar someone from owning it in the first place but not take it off them, assuming a new buyer could be found? Could get some properly worrying cases.

It really depends on what legal agreements the FA has in place with all of the signatory clubs tbh. There's certainly no FA equivalent of the NBA constitution though, which the removal of Donald Sterling was based on.

Big day for Blackpool. They finally have 11 first team players! Still no keeper, but that doesn't matter. Sure someone'll be able to fill in.

I don't think you can ban someone from owning a club, just from running it.

Actually yeah, I'm pretty sure this is right. Attempting to ban someone from owning anything, including a football club would amount to a restraint of trade, and be against the laws of the EU. Whilst the right to freedom of trade is not absolute, I'm certain that the FA does not have the authority to qualify anyone's rights in this regard.

Everton have a press conference scheduled for 4pm, talks are that it could be to do with Lukaku, who's being strongly linked with a £24m permanent move. Would love it if true.

I'd take that as well. Reckon we'll end up with Lukaku before the end of August, the talk has been very positive, but keeping Barkley should be imperative.

Couldn't they make it one of the terms of competing in the FA Cup or Football League?
