Wow - 4th in the League, still in the FA Cup, still in the Champions League and they sack the manager. I know recent performances haven't been great, but geez Chelsea - spoilt much?

Let's do a sweep on the first paper to feature a "Mourinho for Chelsea" story

I'm gonna take the Star

If Grant returns then Chelsea are a bigger joke than Newcastle, it's official, I checked the rulebook

Yeah and more so than Spurs, at least that havn't tried to get Martin Jol back (yet).
Can't see it happening though, Gus Hiddink would be good but he doesn't seem to be interested. Problem is who will they be satisfied with? Expectations are extremely high and whoever is bought in will be living in the shadow of Mourhino, what's more even the money isn't really there. Chelsea have brought all this all upon themselves and they now find themselves in a right mess.

O'Neill at sixteens would be where my money would be going, if I hadn't spunked it spectacularly this weekend:@

International Coach
My money is on Mancini. Reason being he's an ex player, and as a rule its not the most intelligent species, and you'd have to be a regular passenger on the sunshine bus to take that job.

Either that or in need of a 7 figure severance package before August.

Very popular figure at Chelsea so it isn't quite as stupid as it sounds, if he was still at Blackburn I think he would be one of the leading candidates.

I know this, but with his middle of the road management of a big money squad so far this season and Chelsea's fondness for overseas coaches I just can't see it happening.

Yeah obviously not going to happen now, I just hope he is given time at City, he earned his right to it with the excellent job he did at Blackburn.

People may be laughing at Grant but he has a better record %-wise than any Chelsea coach since Abramovich came in. He's nowhere near as bad as people seem to think, wouldn't mind him at Citeh at all.

Aye, he lost the league by two points after having to give the others a pretty big head-start.
