I like Joey Barton, poor man’s Stevie G but his all action and I like his directness. Off the field matters would go against him but if a convicted racist still harbours hopes of playing for England, why not Barton.
Run that one by me again.

When was he convicted of racism?

Yea big fan of Parker also, but with Hargreaves making the DM position his own & Carrick his major rival its going to be hard for Parker to get a nod for England unless somehow he can transform into a goal-scoring mid-fielder for the magpies.
And hows he then going to get in the squad, let alone the team?

International Captain
found this funny on the gossip columns

England goalkeeper Paul Robinson did not touch the ball for a total of 42 minutes 51 seconds during Saturday's stroll against Andorra. His spell of inactivity stretched from a goal-kick shortly before half-time to a picking up a pass from Ashley Cole just before full-time.

What do people reckon about dumping Downing and playing Joe Cole whenever possible?

I like the idea.

wasnt that Bowyer and Woodgate?

Joey Barton did once push a cigar in a teamates face and of course his half brother was convicted of a racist murder but Barton has not even grown up with him. Barton has had massive problems but over the last year he has kept himself out of trouble. Dont forget that John Terry was once envolved in a court case after an incident in a night club.

Bowyer was acquitted, Woodgate was found guilty. Also no need for the Joey Barton history lesson, his off the field problems are pretty well documented. I was just commenting that if someone like Woodgate is on the fringes of the England side then there is no reason (other than his ability of course) why Barton should not be selected.

What attack is this that you speak of?

Granted he may not be the nicest person to know, but labelling him a convicted racist is more than a little over the top.

Clearly not that well if you're going to start labelling him things he's not.
