Nope, 'cos Barca won it that year. 92/93 was Marseille's year.

Dunno if Waddle was in the team or not.
According to this book i have...

Marseille made the final in 90/91 but lost to Red Star Belgrade on pens. Waddle was definitely in that match and didn't take a penalty not suprisingly.

By the time Marseille won in 92/93 he was gone. Awesome teams in 92/93 though.

M: Barthez, Angloma (Durand), Boli, Desailly, Pele, Eydelie, Sauzee, Deschamps, De Meco, Boksic, Voller (Thomas)

AC: Rossi, Tassotti, Costacurta, Baresi, Maldini, Donadoni (Papin), Rijkaard, Albertini, Lentini, Van Basten (Eranio).

Boularouz has been god-awful ever since he signed for them. One look at the Chelsea forums tells you what they think of him.
Fair enough. (suppose there's a reason why he, as a defender, has got subbed off four times.) Was good at the World Cup and at Hamburg tho.

Something I have been meaning to do for a while, but just waiting for a certain Brazilian to score again:

Guess who's back
Back again
Adriano's back
Tell a friend
Guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back
guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back..

Nice win for us today, especially with Forest and Tranmere losing and Bristol City and Swansea only drawing. Over 10K there to see it as well. Tough 6 weeks coming up though, lets hope we don't lose any of our youngsters in the january transfer window.
Yeah but if the price is right, wouldn't that be more or less a certainty?

Steve Archibald won a championship in Spain, I think. Wilkins and Hateley did alright for Milan IIRC. Hateley, Waddle, Hoddle Steven all did well in France, not sure how good the french league is though. Souness did OK with Sampdoria, he was quality. Lambert Keegan, Mcinally in Germany too. John Charles was immense obviously.

Cascarino and Brady did well, but they're Irish. Even though Caz wasn't.
Didn't Keegan get the Ballon d'Or when with Hamburg?

From the figures that have been bandied about, the prices aren't likely to be right, the 3 that are being talked about are Chris Porter, who's second top score in the league, but the rumours were about 400K and since we paid 100K for him and Bury have a 20% sell on clause it's not really worth it. Leeds are apparently after Chris Taylor, greatest living gingerman, and might offer 500K, but that's peanuts and Leeds are probably going to get relegated whilst we might go in the other direction. Liverpool are after Eardley apparently, and though he's an excellent prospect, he's the one who's departure would have the least effect.

I suppose even more important is whether we can keep Sean Gregan when his loan expires in January.

Pretty sure he did tbh.

Thing is though, is that most of these exports seem to be late 70s/80. Last 10 years or so there's been a shocking decline in the export of English players.

Or extremely lucky that Chelsea, not for the first time lately, played **** after going 2 up.

Still, you have to take advantage, and, for the most part, they did OK.
It looked more like Wigan playing better than Chelsea slacking off. They dominated most of the second half. It was only with 10 mins left or so that Chelsea got back into the game after the changes.

Ince did ok, nothing special. Moratti was a huge fan however but Paul's wife pretty much put an end to any ambitions he had of making a real name for himself in Serie A. Platt for sheer longevity would probably be seen as a success, really did not set anything a light until his performances with Samp, he failed with the Old Lady but unlike Des Walker (LOL) had a pretty good time in Genoa.
It proves once again in a football player's marriage that the girlfriend/partner/wife rules the household. Probably threaten a divorce and take them to the cleaners

Man Utd 1st Team Squad 2006/7 (so far):

GK
Edwin Van Der Sar- One of the best currently.
Tomas Kuzsczak- Unproven.

Defenders
Gary Neville - One of the best rightbacks in England.
Rio Ferdinand - Top class.
Gabriel Heinze - One of the bets leftbacks in England IMO. Don't become a fan favourite so easily.
Mikael Silvestre - Inconsistent
Nemanja Vidic - Looks a good signing so far.
Patrice Evra - Undecided
Wes Brown - Coming on but not lived up to his potential.
John O'Shea - Decent player.

Midfielders
Paul Scholes - Aging but can still maker good contributions.
Ryan Giggs - Same as Scholes.
Darren Fletcher - Not lived up to the promise he supposedly has. Still got a little time though.
Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro - Amazing talent. Needs more production.
Ji-Sung Park - Impact player. With a season under his belt better is expected though.
Kieran Richardson - Potential but inconsistent.
Michael Carrick - Good player. Made the big jump to CL. Undecided.

Forwards
Wayne Rooney - Not much needs to be said here.
Louis Saha - Unproven through a full season at Utd.
Giusseppe Rossi - Talented. Will he able to handle the jump from Reserves to PL if he becomes a fixture?
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - Unknown. Coming back from a long layoff. Needs to regain the form that kept Becks out of the team.
Alan Smith - Won't score a lot of goals but can change things up and is versatile. Was coming into his own in midfield last season.
Larsson- Experienced. Impact player. Provides a 'Ruud' option.

A fair review I'd say.

Not much between the two in terms of squad size. In fact they're even. Masfield looks to have some good players and should be around midtable or looking for a promotion spot.

I want to know this, how on earth was Paul Konchesky's red card, a red card? Looked like a legitimate dive from Wayne Routledge and at best it was a yellow card. I hope that it is rescinded because that looked very harsh IMO. True he was the last guy but that was a fair tackle and if that red card stands then the game is going soft IMO.

Also I saw the Serie A game between Catania and Sampdoria, I have never seen a reserve goal keeper (Catania's) being sent off until now. Geez Samp were unlucky with a goal disallowed (equally as bad as the Konchesky sent off) and a header that hit the post and bounced away instead of going in.

Good to see Everton have a win, i was starting to get worried after losing those past couple of matches.

Atrocious showing by us. 2-0 up after 5 mins, then ceased to play. It'll be a bleak Xmas if we keep our current f9orm up.

Alas, I have faith, and we'll be back above you lot soon

GeraintIMH is obviously nowhere near a comp or he'd have pointed out that John Aldridge was the top scorer in La Liga for one of the seasons he spent with Sociedad by now. ;)

Think Gary Loinacre (© Mick Channon during the 1986 World Cup coverage) was a minor success at Barca too. Might've won the CWC whilst he was there, IIRC.
LOL you've saved me a job there Brumby :D

I really should've known that actually. I think Waddle played for Wednesday in the two cup finals v us that year.
