I'd agree the penalty wasn't a dive, but there was another incident in the same game where Ronaldo did dive.roseboy64 said:See. Backed up by evidence.

He got just about as much of the ball as it's possible to get - IIRC the only reason it didn't go further off the Arsenal player's path (can't remember who) was because it hit the Arsenal player almost immediately after the contact and went into his path again.superkingdave said:He didn't 'get the ball' he touched the ball, imo they are separate things.
His touch did not move the ball significantly away from the Arsenal player, who would still have got the ball if he hadn't been brought down by the challenge.
so chimbomba touched it, the arsenal player touched it, it went into the arsenal players path again and chimbomba's challenge brought him down...Tom Halsey said:He got just about as much of the ball as it's possible to get - IIRC the only reason it didn't go further off the Arsenal player's path (can't remember who) was because it hit the Arsenal player almost immediately after the contact and went into his path again.
It was Rosicky.Tom Halsey said:He got just about as much of the ball as it's possible to get - IIRC the only reason it didn't go further off the Arsenal player's path (can't remember who) was because it hit the Arsenal player almost immediately after the contact and went into his path again.
Chimbonda more than touched it, it then came off the Arsenal player's path.superkingdave said:so chimbomba touched it, the arsenal player touched it, it went into the arsenal players path again and chimbomba's challenge brought him down...
erm noTom Halsey said:Chimbonda more than touched it, it then came off the Arsenal player's path.
Players go down in almost any challenge, whether it got the ball or not, so are you saying that every tackle is a freekick?
Not really, Bolton don't have a huge following even at home, they wouldn't take many to Mansfield (not more than say 1500). You'd have to hope you get on tv, which, with the other ties in the round would be highly unlikelyMatteh said:Thanks for that Craig.
Mansfield/Doncaster v Bolton
If only we'd not let in that last minute goal, we'd have made a fair bit of money.
Away crowds at Mansfield are hardly huge, so it'd be around 1000 more than usual, plus more Mansfield fans would bother to turn up. Reckon would get double the normal gate number.superkingdave said:Not really, Bolton don't have a huge following even at home, they wouldn't take many to Mansfield (not more than say 1500). That's true.superkingdave said:I'd agree the penalty wasn't a dive, but there was another incident in the same game where Ronaldo did dive.
How many is it (Mansfield's home stadium)?Matteh said:Away crowds at Mansfield are hardly huge, so it'd be around 1000 more than usual, plus more Mansfield fans would bother to turn up. Reckon would get double the normal gate number.
Field Mill holds 10,000 and is all seater. ****s all over Belle Vue (Doncaster's ground).Craig said:How many is it (Mansfield's home stadium)?
They need one, when i went to Belle Vue two seasons ago it was like a pre-fab bomb shelter.Craig said:But aren't they building a new stadium?
IIRC their chairman some years ago burnt down a stand to get insurance money? Well tried to...?Matteh said:They need one, when i went to Belle Vue two seasons ago it was like a pre-fab bomb shelter.
Yes but Chimbonda got the ball in a fair challenge. Your whole argument is fairly nonsensical to me - it doesn't matter whether he brought him down or not, he got the ball.superkingdave said:Rosicky was lucky the ball rebounded in to his path and Chimbomba unlucky that it did so, but that doesn't change the fact that after any contact with the ball, it was in Rosicky's path and Chimbomba brought him down..
