The going up to Wenger and baiting him?

Absolutely no reason to approach him.
That would be all well and good if he did do that - except he didn't. He was celebrating in front of his own technical area. He only walked towards Wenger once Wenger had already got out of the pram.

No, he celebrated away from him, then went over and said something - it's not as if Wenger raced over to him to start it.

Funny how if he did nothing wrong, he personally felt the need to apologise for it after the game isn't it?

Probably because he's naturally embarrassed. That doesn't mean he did anything wrong, and if you're resorting to that argument it would suggest you have no solid evidence...

Yes he did, Pardew only even looked at Wenger once Wenger had started towards him.

Southend were paying generously after going 1-0 up. Their double chance was $1.70 at one stage, awesome.

Whingeur probably had the first comment, otherwise why would Pardew suddenly stop celebrating and wander over saying 'Why'?
I love the way you can twist what's on screen to suit yourself.

All we can see is Pardew walking towards Wenger saying something, so it's automatically Wenger's fault?

I ask you, why did Pardew apologise if he's as innocent as you make out?

Pardew apologised for his celebrations, since unlike Whingeur he is man enough to even apologise for something that was perfectly acceptable anyway he would also be man enough to apologise if he actually did say something bad. Pardew only apologised for his celebrations, draw your own conclusions.

You still haven't answered why Pardew would suddenly stop celebrating and walk over if Whingeur hadn't said something.

I haven't seen Pardew "stop celebrating and walk over", hence I cannot comment on it.

He walks towards Wenger, clearly saying something, yet you've decided that was all Wenger's fault - pretty typical for you.

Hey you two, heres an idea. We have this new shiny Sports forum, I wasn't particularly in favour myself, but it seems to be working quite well, so I could be wrong*.

To utilise its space, why doesn't one of you start a thread about this, so the rest of us can get on with talking about matches going on now. I think Wenger was at fault, tbh, but I stopped caring about an hour after the match, this little argument looks like its gonna be one of your epics. and tbh cbf reading it.

Scaly could also start a thread about why Henrys crap, where he could explain to the uninitiated what cdm means, maybe a glossary of phrases he uses in his quaint language of hate.

Just a thought:unsure:

*A phrase I'm sure neither of you have ever used

Anywhoo, top goal by that Eastwood bloke, and Roeder keeps his job with a penalty shoot-out.

I quite like the Milk cup, or whatever they call it in this tawdry millenium. You see some good youngsters, and some old-fashioned cup football, with upsets.

I'd probably spend more time in the sports forum if people made threads like that, actually. :p

Damn Southend. :p But seriously, terrific goalkeeping at their end, they deserved the win. Alan Smith is crap, I don't know why we persist with him. I prefer him as a midfielder, actually, and that says it all. If he's in a place where he's not supposed to score a lot of goals from, then maybe he won't be as disappointing.

The Milk cup is such a fine name for it in my opinion, sums it up i think. Carling cup is rather dull.

Best named trophy around at the moment would have to be the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, a marvelous competiton.

Not sure if you watched Good Morning Sports Fans yesterday, but they showed a different camera angle - one where you could see both of them, and Wenger clearly makes the first move. That MotD clip Scaly provided appears to be on point too - because from the GMSF clip, it would appear that one of Pardew's celebrations, supposedly in the direction of Wenger (though it is highly debatable whether that was intentional), started it.

And well played to Southend (as they're my "pat-on-the-head" team, I hope it sparks them into action in the Championship).

Do you know how much us lower league supporters get wound up by pat-on-the-head supporters? LOL
