Sorry Scaly, but it's true. Cesc Fabregas = ace
You need to get over Pedro Mendes.Barney Rubble said:2nd best midfielder in the Premiership. Genius.
Exactly. They've had nearly all soft games so far this season and they're still 5 points off the two leaders with a game in hand.Tom Halsey said:Doubt it, they're still gonna get bullied by the physical teams.

Like who? We've already played (& beaten) ManUre, Sheffield United & Reading. Only really Bolton & (maybe) yer Chavs to come.Tom Halsey said:Doubt it, they're still gonna get bullied by the physical teams.
Man Utd weren't really physical in that game and neither were Reading.BoyBrumby said:Like who? We've already played (& beaten) ManUre, Sheffield United & Reading. Only really Bolton & (maybe) yer Chavs to come.
Mourinho will be going on the cheap if he doesn't win the champs league this season.Craig said:http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/oct22g.html
This has be the the 85th time this has happened?
Both gave away penalties at home; in ManUre's case that's pretty impossible short of actual bodily harm.roseboy64 said:Man Utd weren't really physical in that game and neither were Reading.
As has already been stated, none of these teams are really physical, and giving away a penalty doesn't equal physical either.BoyBrumby said:Like who? We've already played (& beaten) ManUre, Sheffield United & Reading. Only really Bolton & (maybe) yer Chavs to come.
Funny how you neglect to mention that the same could be said for all 3 of the sides above them...Scaly piscine said:Exactly. They've had nearly all soft games so far this season and they're still 5 points off the two leaders with a game in hand.
So how many sides actually are really physical then?Tom Halsey said:As has already been stated, none of these teams are really physical
You obviously haven't seen much of Sheffield United or Reading then; both very physical teams.Tom Halsey said:As has already been stated, none of these teams are really physical, and giving away a penalty doesn't equal physical either.
Sides like Bolton, Blackburn etc.marc71178 said:So how many sides actually are really physical then?
very true, Arsenal have a very skillful group of players this year.BoyBrumby said:You obviously haven't seen much of Sheffield United or Reading then; both very physical teams.
I'd say most teams are going to atempt to outmuscle Arsenal this year & I think that's fine. It's up to us to cope with it, which we've done thus far. No team is going to approach a match against us & seriously think they're going to out pass or out finesse us.
a) Sheffield United I'll give you - Reading, while they've impressed me, don't strike me as physical though.BoyBrumby said:a) You obviously haven't seen much of Sheffield United or Reading then; both very physical teams.

I suspect I can think of at least two Chelsea keepers who would beg to demure; Hunt actually went thru Lehmann once on Sunday too. I don't think Reading are dirty, but they do present a physical challenge for teams.Tom Halsey said:a) Sheffield United I'll give you - Reading, while they've impressed me, don't strike me as physical though.
b) You didn't come close to coping with it at the start of the season.
a) At least one of those, if not two, was a complete accident, and again, at least one was a challenge every player I can think of would go into.BoyBrumby said:a) I suspect I can think of at least two Chelsea keepers who would beg to demure; Hunt actually went thru Lehmann once on Sunday too. b) & who has taken the game to us with a physical appraoch then? The only teams to get results against us so far (Boro, Villa & Citeh) have all bunged ten men behind the ball & defended well. We had more possession & chances in every game, but were unable to force the win (or the draw in Citeh's case).
c) Bolton have really outplayed us in the past by presenting a physical challenge, as did Man U the season before last when they beat us after 49 games. Chavski are more flexible, but any team with Essien & Makalele is going to be strong in the tackle too & they'd be capable of it too.
