it really is. Constant petty squabiling is increadibly dull. Why everyone doesnt just ignore Picsine i dont know.
I think you'll find it's marc who consistently adds zilch to any discussion with his stupid one liners.

Everyone else at least debates to some degree, but then you probably prefer it if we all agreed with each other and there were a couple of posts on the whole forum a day.

As for this it doesn't mean much because for a part of his time Chelsea and Liverpool were rubbish (and Tottenham rubbish for all of it). For the guy who virtually ALL of the goals go through 1 in 2 games is nothing special anyway - if he was in an equal striking partnership with someone else then fair enough. They've hand-picked dubious games and haven't shown anything that strongly goes against him being a flat track bully, I could pick far more games (including CL, FA Cup, Internationals) as I've done before and he drops to 1 goal every 3 games.

I'm not particularly blaming anybody - and I certainly don't think we should all agree on everything. It's just the constant quoting and unnecessary arguing that I could do without.

Henry has been around since '99. Chelsea were hardly been the crap mid-90s team they were then, Liverpool were hardly average. Point is both were top 5 material. Tottenham got included to the list because of their finish last season (and partly because of the derby nature of the games), but then it's not like his record against Tottenham alters the overall statistic.

They say that despite his record of scoring a load of goals, that it's a mystery why he can't score in Semis + Finals. But he's still scored goals against class opposition in the earlier stages of International and European competitions.

Give me enough chances and I'd score against quality opposition, it's a question of how often that distinguishes the average international forwards (chief poseur) and the real quality international players (Ronaldo sans lard).

As you'll have noticed I don't rate Chelsea and Liverpool of before because they weren't genuine title contenders, that makes them fairly rubbish relatively speaking.

I think this poem/phrase sums up how our wonderfully talented football team has been so frustrating:
tbh i dont think it sums up anything of the sort, the current side arent worse, they just arent any better either.

England will almost certainly reach Euro 2008 and almost certainly not win it.
Thats what everyone is saying, but i'm holding out hope that this ``Golden Generation`` can bring us Glory soon. I think we have a better chance in Euro 2008 than in South Africa because well i'm worried about how they are going to cope with the hot conditions that they will most likely have then, while in 2 years time at least they will be in European conditions so for me is then or never...

On paper they are for, the blokes just haven't produced the goods at all on the international stage.

on paper means nothing, the results have remained the same as they ever have been within the last 20 years or so.

seeing as it will be winter in SA when the world cup takes place the odds of the temperatures being any higher than they were in germany earlier this year is somewhat doubtful.

Well even so, i'm sure it will be hotter at times than Germany & since unlike the cricket team they don't play around the world, i fear that the conditions even if we take a strong team then could affect them, after all weren't England complaining about the heat during the 1st WC game vs Paraguay..

But wasn't it in excess of 40 C on the pitch?

Nice to see our Under 21s beating Jerry on his home patch. :)

Brace from Theo too; the boy's getting there even if his hasty inclusion in the WC squad probably did him (and Bent & Defoe) more harm than good.
