I'm not particularly all for him, I just don't have an incredibly zealous hatred of someone who's led England to 4-0, 5-0 and 1-0 victories and has nothing else to be judged on.

Wow... that commentator got a bit excited there. I saw that live at some ridiculous time in the morning. Look, he still has a brilliant streak about him. But more often than not he's just simply poor. At Ajax he seemed to deliver more often than not, in the Serie A, CL and Internationals he seems to get found wanting more often than not.

I actually saw that match on ESPN live and basically laughed at how poor his first touch was before he proceeded to amaze me. Which leads me to another memory of a match I was playing in. I was playing on the right of midfield ball came out of the box to the left a guy from the other team tried to volley it mistimed it ball bounced up and hit him in the nether regions for me to have a bit of a chuckle to myself. He recovered, procedeed to dribble around 3 players then chipped the keeper hit the post and went in (keeper was standing near post) from basically the corner of the byline and 18 yard box. Good times.

Yet I can show his poor international record for a good France side and numerous instances of where he flopped completely in big matches such as the CL final. Nigel Reo-Coker is the closest thing England have to Hargreaves IMO. I fully expect him to be an English regular soon and show his worth at international level.

Barry on the left is worth a shot IMO, obviously it's Cole by miles when fit but Downing's had his chances.

Now Nicky Butt seems a spent force it's actually probably Phil Neville. Sad, but true. Ledley King seems to have been completely overlooked now too.
