Indeed - he needs a complete change of scenary after whatever it is that caused the problems earlier this year.
Here's hoping for big Sol's sake Bobby Zamora does not follow. Arsenal have done right in agreeing to terminate Campbell’s contract, his clearly lost the plot and was an embarrassment last season not only to himself but to his team, liabilities liked that can not be carried or even taken to WC tournaments.

Why?

Since when have they liked anything to do with Manchester United? Even if he is playing for England?

United to make Lippi move

Well?
Zambrotta is on his way out of Juventus and supposedly wants a move to Man Utd but only if Lippi (one of Zambrotta's best mates) goes as well. So the paper talk could have some resonance, Lippi and Alex Ferguson are also meant to be very good friends.

Is that an insinuation, of sorts....?

Blimey, they didn't waste any time setting the new game up.

Now if only we can stop Brumby from winning everything in sight...

Three Missed Pens... are in. :)

Is it worth starting a seperate thread for the fantasy comp? It tends to get a bit lost in the English Football season ones.

Yeah, good plan

Lippi can't speak English. Unless he learns really, really fast, nothing will come of that. Maybe the season after this one, seeing as it's tipped to be SAF's last by a lot of pundits (but then, I think they said that last season, too).

I'm optimistically hoping Man Utd will be successful in their bid to get Torres - if we are, I won't be too sad to see Ruud head out. Ronaldo can stay because everyone and their uncle will be buying tickets to go to Old Trafford. He's the nation's #1 draw card - "Come and boo Cristiano Ronaldo." We could sell effigies! We'd make a mint. :p But yeah, seriously, I'm hoping for Torres and one of Mascherano, Gattuso, Diarra, Vieira for our defensive midfielder role. Carrick would be okay if we can't get them, but I'd rather Hargreaves personally if we were going to gun for an English player. If we get a top forward (or just keep Ruud) and add in two quality midfielders - one attacking, one defending - we'll have a more than adequate squad to take on the other top sides.

Not sure on exactly who the attacking midfielder should be, though. Someone needs to stop up before Scholes comes up with another abnormal handicap, or just gets too old (whichever comes first, the race is on).

Meanwhile, if anyone's interested...

It was probably just a silly mistake, but you've missed out the summer's biggest signings. So I shall list them

Robbie Stockdale - Hull to Tranmere - Free
Kevin Ellison - Hull to Tranmere - undisclosed
Gareth Taylor - Forest to Tranmere - Free
Chris Shuker - Barnsley to Tranmere - Free
Gavin Ward - Preston to Tranmere - Free
Shane Cansdell-Sheriff - Some Danish club to Tranmere - Free
Paul McLaren - Rotherham to Tranmere - Free
John Mullin - Rotherham to Tranmere - Free

Chris Greenacre - going nowhere

Conclusion: the whites are going up.

Robertinho

Cricketer Of The Year
Quite happy with Fulham's transfers so far - Bullard is a steal, Runstrom and Zakuani are both young and already good players.

But Steed Malbranque? £4m offers from a range of clubs (Newcastle, Middlesbrough, etc), yet he refuses the contract. What a ****. I hope he enjoys playing in the reserves. And I also hope that he is targeted whilst playing for the reserves, and suffers a career-ending injury.

Ha ha, Ronnie bringing in the Rotherham again.

I remember we were optimistic last season when it seemed like we were signing a new player every day.

 When you're hot, you're hot. When you're not, you sell 3 fantastically underrated players (plus Damien Francis) for less than they're worth and bring in a permanently crocked keeper, a centre back who no one's ever heard of and a striker who costs 20% of his transfer fee per goal he scores a season instead.
