I think it is more likely now than it ever has been before (although it is still
extremely unlikely) that a team will win every game in a Premiership season. Most thought an unbeaten season couldn't be done, but Arsenal did it - and if any team in the world is equipped to win every single game this season, it's Chelsea. They have a man who by the end of his career will be head, shoulders and torso above every other manager ever involved in the game, they have a world-class squad in every position, and they have an endless supply of money (although they don't need to use it any more). Anyone who at any point between the middle of last season and now has suggested any other team might win the title is seriously deluded - the Buccaneers and Arsenal actually do have more chance of winning the Champions League than the Premiership.
My team managed a decent draw yesterday away at Boro - Gary O'Neil, a classic example of a player being ignored because he doesn't play for a "big four" team, had yet another blinder on the right side of our midfield. The kid is surely England material, and the sooner he gets an opportunity in central midfield, his best position, the better for Pompey and for England, because he is probably in the top 5 midfielders in this country for creativity, probably along with Gerrard, Lampard, Murphy, and Carrick. He's not ready for international football yet, and he won't be for a while, but he is a truly outstanding prospect, and he really has his head screwed on right as well. Here's hoping he gets at least a little bit of recognition for some awesome displays in a struggling side so far this season.
And still on the subject of Pompey - how the hell did Alain Perrin manage to play a 3-3-3-1 formation and not end up confusing the players a la Sven? He must be better than I thought!!
