And We'll never Walk Alone! What a game! Liverpool does have the greatest supporters, the half time rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone by the fans was so divine! And speaking of divinity will somebody tell me, is God really Gerrard playing football?

But those extras don't compose 30 minutes each time. NBA has 6 minutes, Baseball - 1 inning takes less than 30 minutes and all the players aren't involved all the time, so it is very much feasible.

Playing 30 minutes of extra each time is not practically feasible.
It's perfectly feasible, especially in the final. Baseball plays extra innings in the daft league where teams play 162 games in a season - games with extra innings have gone on for as long as 8 hours, ice hockey has gone into triple (or further) overtime plenty of times with 20 minute periods which don't include various stoppages. If you really wanted you could reduce extra time a bit, but either way it would work and you wouldn't get teams like Liverpool just settling for a draw as soon as extra time starts and waiting for penalties and most importantly football wouldn't be such a joke.

Dude, playing 160 games a season is different from playing football at a go. In basketball or ice hockey, the game is bound to finish sooner or later.

In football, if you go with extra time, a game can go on for 4-5 hours without finishing - requiring completely different stamina levels compared to let's say, tennis - where games can go for 4-5 hours as players do have breaks between games there.

I don't see it practically feasible that players play 4-5 hours of football till their legs break off as a realistic approach.

A realistic option is to replay the game the next day or after skipping a day - very much difficult still for say the first matches of the 2nd round of the world cup as it could throw the schudling haywire. Just the final maybe? What if it is a draw again a second time? Replay again maybe then?

I don't see a feasable solution apart from the penalties.

Ice hockey is similar to football in terms of how likely it is to finish sooner rather than later. I already mentioned about having proper rest intervals for extra time, so stamina will be less of a problem and you won't get knackered teams sitting back as is so often the case in extra time (so a first extra time period ends up being more likely to bring a proper result).

SP,have u ever played football?for 90 minutes continuous? And after that 30 minutes? If u have and know what it feels like,u'd never say a ill-thing abt penalties, and how can u even compare footbal with other games like baseball? Football is much more physically demanding.Penalties is a mental thing, ability to strike the ball past good keepers, keeping ur nerve, and only then the better team wins

arguing with u is a lost cause or utter sloblock in your words.u are just angry that teams that u hate keep winning and u cannot find a more lame excuse than taking it out on penalties.u conveniently ignored my other points.

I'm feeling alot better than I will on Monday when I have to go into college and face all those scouse ****s, who're hard enough to put up with when they don't have anything to gloat about. They sound remarkably like you do, actually.

Great final, if Harewood had been standing on two legs he may have won it in the end.

What a strike by Gerrard though, utter quality.

I actually slightly agree with Scaly:-O I'm not a massive fan of pens to decide these things, if they must do it, I'd rather they took them before the match.

Does anyone know what happened to Harewood? It looked to me like Sissoko did it when he brought him down just after he was lying down injured.

No. You sound like bad winners. You handle winning so tactlessly and ungraciously and just seem to want any excuse to brag. It's the reason I hate Liverpool so much.

Gerrardpool win the FA Cup then. One man team.

I known I'm heavily biased, but Liverpool would have been slaughtered without him today.

Who set up Crouch's goal which was wrongly disallowed? Who set up Cisse for the first goal? Who crashed in the second and third? Who scored his penalty?

Awesome player.

I couldn't give a toss which team won today, or when Liverpool beat Milan or on most other occasions. You didn't make any other points that weren't already covered or mentioned earlier.
