I don't get to many games due to the current fiscal situation I find myself in, usually see about four or five with a friend who works for NEP, they have a couple of work season tickets.

Apropos Monday, I'm t'other end of town so our mob will be doing the Alex or the Brunswick I'm afraid. I'll take a raincheck as they say, and have a pint with you at Queen's Park later in the year if you're still going.
Fair Do's. I plan to get to the game against HRH Surrey at Queens Park.

On a completely random note, as much as I am eager to see Giuseppe Rossi get more games for Man Utd as I think he's extremely talented... every time I look at him I'm reminded of Donnie Darko.

Maradona's international record is played 91 scored 34. I know he was so much more than just a goalscorer but so is Henry.
Yea, chief poseur is so much more than a goal-scorer that's why France and the CDMs have basically survived by their defense and the CDMs have barely scored a goal a game in Europe this season (actually they might not have managed a goal a game come to think of it), France only just qualified for the World Cup after conceding just 2 goals in their 10 group games. So yea, chief poseur must obviously be a brilliant defender I guess.

By your own admission Zinadine Zidane is 'one of the best players of the modern era' - you then reel off a string of teams that France had under-performed against, but it's Henry who comes in for the criticism.

What's up - Zidane not French enough for you to be criticised or is it that he's privileged because 'Z''s are worth 10 each?

Need a manager first (not sure whether Terry Westley will move back to the academy or whether he wants the job full-time) - hot rumour has been Keegan recently.
WRT Derby managers I'd be interested to know what youself & Pedro made of Mr Burley as a boss? As an East Anglian I have loads of Ipswich affiliated chums. :)

Notice how the big game argument is suddenly gone - funny that (!)
If he'd played more big games his record for France would be 1 goal every 3+ games (France get knocked out early so he doesn't play too many), I don't even have to bother filtering out the cannon fodder sides to show how ordinary his international record is. Chief poseur simply can't make that step up in class - because he's merely a good premier league player and ordinary international player.

I liked him and would have him back tomorrow - whether he's got skeletons or Kit Kats in the cupboard is anyone's guess, but I don't care.

Eyes not spreadsheets
So if Henry is merely a good Premiership player and he's been the best player in the league this decade, that must mean that the whole league standard is rubbish then.

What's the common failing of France *and* the CDMs when the CDMs play in big games?

Answer: goal scoring

Which player is supposedly the best thing since sliced bread who happens to play for both teams and also is supposed to be such a brilliant attacking threat?

Answer: chief poseur

So that leaves one fairly obvious conclusion, chief poseur isn't as great as the hype merchants make him out to be.

Except he hasn't, try again.

Oh yes, he most definitely has.

No matter what you and your one man crusade says, he has been far and away the best player in the Premier league consistently for a number of seasons.

Footballer of the Year 3 times, Players Player of the Year twice - I know where my money is - and it's not on you this time, Scaly.

You can delude some of the people some of the time etc.

Worst I've heard was that he's reputed to be overly fond of the falling down juice, but that's almost certainly a genetic failing tho, isn't it?!

There's a perception at Ipswich that he got a little too close to the sun & his wings melted. Fifth spot in their first year in the Prem & he brought in some overpaid, disinterested mercenaries that the club is only just recovering from now. It's a real pity because Town really do produce some very decent talent, most of which seems to end up at Charlton nowadays! Young Owen Garvan is going to be very good & he'll be off soon too.

He most definitely has not, I'd sooner take Rooney and horse over him for a start. Then there's Lampard, Terry, Cech, Gerrard. I'm sure there are many others that don't become anonymous when the big sides play.

Him getting awards means nothing because people are stupid, you think people even bothered to see how he's scored virtually all of his goals this season against rubbish sides and has done little in Europe (again)? Nope, they just buy into the hype and posing nonsense that you buy into because you're naive.
