Yeah. Their winning sickens me, too. How dare they?
Oh its not the winning, its Mourinho spitting his dummy at every oppertunity.. A bit like Smith and Ponting, someone should tell them to stop whining and that being involved with sport professionally is something millions would give their right arm for..

Not that Arsenal whinge much less, but at least they dont act like thugs when something doesnt go their way

Ever seen them rush the referee when a decision goes against them? Apart from that they only dive, cry, cheat, have their FA lackey help them out etc.

I'm gtetting sick of media people complaining about the Cisse offside decision.

He didn't interfere with play, the opposition would have done exactly the same thing had he not been there, this is why the offside rule was introduced, to stop good attacking moves beind ruined because an insignificant player was offside. Everyone seems to be so shortsited, the new rule is much better than the old one, just because they're to stupid to work out what is classed as interfering
I take it you support Liverpool and Cisse did interfere with play, he did not touch the ball because other than not being able to hit a barn door with a banjo the guy can not take a football under control cleanly. It was a shocking decision and credit to the media for highlighting such an inane rule.

I think every team indulges in that though.. Arsenal just seem to be the lesser of the evils, and although I'm not really interested in the EPL I have a lot of admiration for Henry.. Shearer at Newcastle, an absolute star too..

I'd nearly forgotten about that and now you've re-opened old wounds ;)

No, I read something about modern-day Juventus and 'questionable matters' the other day, and thought something about leopards and spots.

I guess I'm looking for a redistribution of wealth, like the good socialist I am.
True there is the TV deal with Mediaset worth a staggering £150m until 2009, but I think the Milanese two have similar big deals.

Perhaps the use of EPO could be the 'questionable matters'? You know the drug that caused British cyclist Tom SImpson to collapse and die in the 1967 Tour de France?

It's only such an inane rule because no body thinks about the situation properly, every i see gets confused and says it's slightly complicated so we must go back to the old rule(not wishing to offend anyone there)

Cisse did not touch the ball, he was he had no bearing on play, why should Fowler be punished because some lazy frenchman didn't get his feet behind the line?

Under the old rule, perfectly good goals were being canceled because some insignificant player with no bearing on play happened to be in an offside position, which was very frustrating.

Either you are taking the **** or you are completely and utterly naïve and blinked in your viewing and interpretation of Liverpool’s goal on Sunday. Cisse was in the box, he attempted to touch the ball from a pass which was directed for him therefore he was interfering with play thus making him offside.

Davo. What's Scott Spencer like?
Supposedly the new Wayne Rooney....

scores goals for fun for the youth team but never been included in the first team squad so don't know a lot about him tbh.

Check the photos, Cisse was 3 yards away from the box, the pass was intended for Morientes. He didn't touch anything so he wasn't active. He didn't alter anything.

But he attempted to, that is the point you are struggling to comprehend, the ball went through him.

personally my view is that if a player is on the pitch he is active, awful rule if you ask me.

Anyway even if cisse didnt touch the ball, he was in an area in which he infringed the sight of the defenders and keeper and thus was influencing the game from an offside position, and the goal should have been ruled out.

I'm a ref (shameful admission) and I agree - poor rule, just all-round confusion. What's wrong with a flat line through the second to the last defender and if you're the wrong side of it, no matter where you are on the pitch, it's offside.
