*Official* English Football Season 2005-06

Man Utd 0, Sunderland 0. Chorus of boos in a record Premiership attendance (but a pretty happy away crowd :p).

Sunderland relegated, Man United pretty much out of it now, unless Chelsea suffer the worst flop in history.

That's just sad.

Honestly, I don't care what kind of ambitions you have - you don't boo your football team after one poor performance. Especially as this league season have been their best in a few seasons.

I think they played that badly, though. They really weren't up to standard. You don't boo them for losing, but you do boo them for not putting in the effort that is expected of such players. In all honesty, they were really crap. Although to be fair, the packed defence of Sunderland worked fantastically.

It wasn't a huge boo, just noticeable.

You don't boo your team, period.

We did once (mansfield) after a dire dire performance against Macclesfield...
This was at the point where Keith Curle's failings as a manager became apparent.
Everyone thought the Macclesfield players were going down far too easily and then it turned out that one of them was out for 6 weeks after the match 8-)

Why not?

If you invest your time and money into the club then in my opinion you are entitled to express your opinion. Be it by booing the players, the team or doing what Inter Milan fans did yesterday when they did not attend the derby.

If you clap and cheer mediocrity and praise such a thing you will be nothing more than Mick McCarthy or the Sunderland fans who seemed so punch drunk and oblivious to their plight but taking if you are a glory hunting Man Untied fan you should shut the hell up and know your role.

4 minutes of stoppage time, but I just can't see it happening. As far as I'm concerned, Manchester United just lost the Premiership.
You what?

Even a win put them 4 points behind with Chelsea having a game in hand - the Premiership was never there for them to win.

Man Utd dominated the game as they should have. That wasn't a bad performance just poor finishing and some good defending. Take out one of thos and Man U would have easily won by 2 or 3.

Because it does no good whatsoever to anything. If they've played crap, they know it. They don't need telling. Put your rubbish in a bin, go home and take your anger out on something inanimate.. It makes you look like a very, very sore loser.

No just amazed at your stubbornness. It was Chelsea's to lose though. Of course I'll cast my judgements soon.

absolute disappointing loss yesterday (british time) damn Man U needed to win all their games before the clash with Chelsea to really have a chance while hoping Chelsea could slip up, this stupid loss just flips the plot:@

What stubborness?

It's only the deluded Manure fans who think that they ever had a chance and posts such as "Manchester United just lost the Premiership" suggest that they were almost favourites to win it.

Have United actually got any money?

Don't they now have to make 25 million a year just to pay the interest on the loans?

How does that work anyway - you buy something and the debt actually ends up owed by the thing you are buying?
I never understood it myself.

Since Glazer is a billionaire and you naturally assume he has the cash to buy the club debt free and use it make money that way (let's face it who is going to stop him raising prices and doing what he is currently doing) instead of taking out loans when it is going to cost him more.

If you could afford to buy a house for a 150K, would you buy it debt free or take out loans and have to pay back interest which will cost you more.

I think he's a paper billionaire, in that he has it in assets, but not in the readies to actually buy the club.

Either way, the fact he's a billionaire shows that he's pretty good at what he does, so there was no reason to think he'd do anything but good business at the club.
