This is the sort of standard crap everyone on here keeps coming up with. Pele is a great striker, Fowler is a decent club player - saying Fowler was a great striker is an insult to the genuine greats like Pele.

You lot may have ridiculously low standards in calling muppets like Fowler great, and you will no doubt continue to come up with the same hyperbole and then think you're all great because you lot agree with each other, but I will, as I always will, call a spade a spade and I don't give a toss if I'm right and everyone agrees with me or whether I'm right and nobody agrees with me. I'm objective and you lot are not... end of story.
No, you have no real knowledge of football and let race taint your view of players.

That is not objective.

Everybody knows that sweeping statements are the last bastion of the moron.

What if you're wrong and no-one agrees with you?

Fowler's scoring rate, at his peak, speaks for itself.

Henry has scored over 200 goals for Arsenal of course his a goal-scorer.
Hes but he is over-rated as a goal-scorer, there are better goalscorers around (if all you wanted was a pure goalscorer).

He is not over-rated as an overall player.

Now we've got money, Ferguson seems to just think that splashing the cash (on all the wrong players) should do the trick. Unfortunately it hasn't.
Have United actually got any money?

Don't they now have to make 25 million a year just to pay the interest on the loans?

How does that work anyway - you buy something and the debt actually ends up owed by the thing you are buying?

I think we made a profit of £46 million last year (heard that a couple of months ago, and don't take that as certain as I can't remember exactly). That was significantly down on previous years, presumably due to Glazer, but that's a bit more than £25 million.

I only commit myself when I'm right, as I am here. As said before if you all have lower standards and call the likes of Fowler (for a period of his career) a great striker that's your prerogative.

Fowler's record for England and in games not including cannon fodder opposition speak for themselves.

United were the best team of the 90s, and he was a constant thorn to us at his peak.

I could be wrong here, but weren't most of Fowler's games for England after a long injury when he was never the same again?

What's the criteria of being a goal scorer, scoring goals as simple as that. Henry is not only a phenomenal football player but he is a phenomenal goal scorer and his record speaks for itself, you don't score over 200 goals in seven season if you are not a goal scorer. So what if he brings other people into the game, floats down the left hand side now and again so does Samuel Eto and Andrei Shevchenko does not mean they are not goal scorers either.

Also what's "pure goalscorer"? name one "pure goalscorer " who will score a bucket load more goals than Henry.

You'd be in court if you persisted with this behaviour in the real world of calling me a racist, I suggest you find some evidence or shut up.

Well if all I wanted a goal-scorer I'd have van Nistelrooy above Henry, but if I wanted an all-round player, I'd have Henry above van Nistelrooy. There's no-one who scores bucketloads of goals more than Henry, but there are players who score more.

As for the rest, Piscine posted the teams who Henry has scored against this season. I had to agree that the only remotely hard fixture Henry had scored in was Liverpool.

I think Henry is a bit over-rated as a goalscorer, in the same way as Cantona probably was. But neither of them are over-rated as all-round players.

What about Henry's goals in the Champions League not only this season in the big games but his hat-trick in Roma, or is dismantling of Inter in Milan. The flat track bully tag with Henry does not fit anymore, the guy has proven himself against the biggest and best.

That's fair enough, I think the stats may have been posted before the knockout CL matches this season.

Still, Henry's overall scoring record in the CL does not impress.

Man United really struggling to get a decent shot at goal against Sunderland, who are defending really well for the worst team ever in the premiership. I feel that the lack of Saha and Rossi on the bench is a bit worrying. Saha is out on injury, sure, but Rossi could surely have been there. Not happy with the performances of van Nistelrooy and Evra in the first half, and Ferdinand hasn't been great either. The other players just aren't really firing. Neville has been fantastic, though.

Off to see Everton v Spurs tomorrow, hopefully will be better than the last time I went (the 4-0 demolition from Bolton before Christmas).

I went to an Everton match once. Lost 2-0 to Arsenal. Parlour and a Bergkamp penalty. '98, iirc. Never went again, due to my dwindling interest in socey and discovering Wigan Athletic is easier to get to. Go there if I ever need my socey fix, now. Going on Tuesday, infact. First time since they reached the Premiership.

4 minutes of stoppage time, but I just can't see it happening. As far as I'm concerned, Manchester United just lost the Premiership.

And I think this one's on Ferguson. The side he chose and the way United have been playing, taking so much time to allow Sunderland to gather all the players in the world to clog up the box while United try to go straight down the middle... just awful.
