Man it was gross and the Beeb continued to show replay after replay of it, I hope his mum wasn't watching.

Sympathies to Smith, it really was a shocker. Good to see him get a standing ovation from Anfield, given he's a United player.

Have to say Newcastle's defense is atrocious. They've gifted 2 great chances on a plate already and Southampton cut them to shreds whenever they manage to string a few passes together - the midfielders don't seem to help out defensively either.

what a disappointment for me and pops we went all the way to Liverpool to see Man U lose who were just poor & seemed to lack inspiration, msut commend Gerrard & Hamman i thought they were standout players for the reds this afternoon. On the bright side i got to see Rooney up close..

I walked past Rooney last week, he was just coming out of the back entrance to the Lowry Hotel and was followed by a 50yo woman who looked like she knew him but was trying to pretend that she didn't...

I'm backing Chelsea to win the FA Cup seeing as Man Utd are out. Missed the match. My computer crashed and I was having trouble setting up back the internet. Took me late into the night so surprise, surprise when I turn in the TV and it's in the 92nd minute and Liverpool are winning and I see a Utd player on a stretcher. The grief atm was ineffable.

You know this might be a new phenomenon in England but if the commentatory is so bad, how about turning it down or turn if off instead of whinging about it?

Because they're the only side to be able to challenge Chelsea aren't they? 8-)

The complete lack of depth in the midfield was shown up yesterday.

A centre midfield of Giggs, Richardson and Fletcher says it all...

Football goes well with music.. Most of commentary is stating the bleeding obvious anyway, thats why Richie keeps so quiet in the cricket

Had an idea, if an All-Star European team were to take on the Rest of the World what would the team look like. I made a try and i must note i only selected players who still played for for their respective countries so people like Maldini would be ruled out:

EUROPE: FORMATION: 1-4-3-3

Oliver Khan - GK
Lilliam Thuram - RB
Fabio Cannavaro - LCB
John Terry - RCB
Alessandro Nesta - LB
David Beckham - RM
Pavel Nedved - LM
Zinidene Zindane - CAM
Michael Owen - RF
Thierry Henry - CF
Ruud Van Nistlerooy - LF

REST OF THE WORLD: FORMATION: 1-3-3-4

Dida - GK
Cafu - RWB
Kolo Toure - CB
Roberto Carlos - LWB
Michael Essein - CDM
Javier Zanetti - RM
Ze Roberto - LM
Ronaldinho - CF
Adriano - RS
Samuel Eto'o - LS
Ronaldo - ST

What actually happened?

Did he dislocate his ankle then fall and break his leg?
Just in case anyone hasn't seen the unfortunate Master Smith's mishap yet, here it is in all its glory  :

There are just some angles one shouldn't see the ankle at. Worst I've seen since that Cov defender v ManUre about 10 years ago. David Busst? His was career ending, so hope Smith has better luck.

:-O

Horrific. But as for it being the worst since Busst, did anyone see Luc Nilis' career-ending one in 2000? That was shocking, I'll try and find a picture.

EDIT: Nope, there's no picture anywhere on the net. Hmph.
