If the ruddy rain doesn't ease off it'll probably be carried over at this rate. Assuming that there is an allowance for them to be able to do so.

Or else we'll get a 5 over slog.

It's a real shame that you maintain such an attitude - one really which is more in keeping with the thoughts of CricketWeb's more ridiculous resident silly person than you.

If it was truly as 'Mickey Mouse' as you seem to think, do you think that the players themselves would be so delighted to win - and more to the point, so utterly gutted when they lose?

Do yourself a favour, take your head out of your biltong paaaasty and watch the final in an hour or so - you really might enjoy it.

It's more 'Donald Duck'
mmmmmm.... Biltong en Naartjies á la Bumble

Ridiculous to have the FINAL reduced by 3 overs a side already. Schedules and Sky no doubt involved somehow, I don't see how they're struggling to bring in another 20-25 minutes of cricket.

The Five Live guys (Stewart, Tudor, and for some bizarre reason, Bilal Shafayat  ) seem to think we'll get play in half an hour or so's time - a 13-15 overs a side game.

The shorter the game, the bigger Somerset's chances of winning - but you still have to feel the power of Flintoff, Symonds, Loye and Law will chase any total, and will set a big one if given the chance.

I thought it was the shorter the better?

Sunday Times cartoon. I was sad enough to scan it from the paper! :D
It's worth it, it's v funny. I saw another Times one after the Aussies lost to Somerset involving a "Memo to Australian cricket team", with a picture of a bat with "bat - used to hit ball" underneath, a ball with "ball - aimed at stumps by bowler", and stumps with "stumps - protected by bat" too. It was dead funny because of the mess the Aussies were in - and that was before Bangladesh! :D

Ah, happy days. How long ago it all seems now.....

Just thinking Lancs left Marcus North out of the semi final, and probably the final aswell, you don't often get sides leaving an overseas player out by choice.

And if Australia hadn't picked Hodge for the Ashes, he'd be playing instead of North and the top six would be Loye, Law, Hodge, Flintoff, Symonds, Cork...

they will get to start but its clearly going to rain before they can finish, what happens then, do they start all over tommorow?

Even better, it's actually reduced to 16 overs a side. Grrrrrr
Well, at least we've got a game tonight - it would have been a little anticlimactic if it had happened tomorrow in front of 4,000 instead of 25,000.

Richard Johnson drops Mal Loye off the third ball of the match - could be important in a game like this!

Flintoff gone for 2, that's 2 of the 4 danger men gone, only Symonds and Law to get out now and then Somerset can really begin to make inroads.

Shafayat wasn't too bad as a commentator really. he said "er" a few to many times but he's ok.

Lancs 41-4 now, Law the only one of the big four left - a fantastic effort by Somerset.

No doubt they'll still find a way to lose the game by 50 runs though.

EDIT: 41-5 - Chapple goes first ball! Johnson gets 2 in 2 for the 2nd time today.

Yeah, he was pretty good - I'm just wondering what went through the BBC guys' heads -

"Who have we got in to do Twenty20 Finals Day then, Jeff?"
"Ermm, Stewart, Tufnell, Tudor, Shafayat...."
"Who?"
"Shafayat."
"Why him?"
"Dunno. Everyone else is working for Sky I guess."
