***Official*** English Domestic Season 2009

Seems to be quite a bit of rain around, not many matches in progress atm.

Murray Goodwin certainly seems to have (belatedly) found his form though. He's increased his season's tally by 50% in one innings.
Murray Goodwin at his most infuriating - a poor season with his figures boosted by the odd enormous innings - he does this from time to time.

Anyhow 620-3 now. 257 not out from Goodwin, 126 not out from Hopkinson, 157 from Nash.

Surely it's time for the Taunton groundsman to be put out of our misery?

Tbf though, de Bruyn and Suppiah are hardly a pair to strike terror into batsmen's hearts. Mr Caddick will be badly missed from now on I suspect.

Just noticed, 79 from the last ten overs.

Yep the "last 10 overs" figure has made for some pretty interesting viewing - it peaked at 90 runs a few overs ago. Back up to 86 as I type.

Three runs away from setting a new record partnership, currently held by John Langridge and George Cox at Headingley in 1949.

It's peculiar that Somerset & Nottinghamshire are both playing at home, desperately need wins to give them a shot at winning the title - yet they've conceded over 1100 runs between them and taken all of 7 wickets with one bowling bonus point each.

Partnership: 363 runs, 58.2 overs, RR: 6.22

After the T20 Final, Dwayne Smith is possibly the last batsman in the world that Somerset would want striding to the crease in this situation...

EDIT: Smith out, predictably enough

731-5 now, I would say declaration at tea but the light is worsening it seems, so there might not be any point.

Goodwin might as well go and beat Lara's 501. Not like Sussex haven't got anything to play for. And the way he is batting, he will have it before the close.

Yeah might as well.
Has a FC high score of 335*. Hasn't passed it yet according to Cricinfo. Bizarre how he's had such a poor year and the produces his highest score ever.

Edit : Pressed post. Switched tabs and it showed him on 336.
Congrats
