Yesterday was actually pretty good for Somerset (although it will end in a draw - no play today because of rain 8-) ). Caddick's heroics with the bat were rather amusing in that he actually played some good shots....what amused me more than that, however, was the fact that he left his side lights on all day & no-one had noticed until I spotted them when I was leaving

Anyway. I was rather confused when it was announced that Franklin was on as sub for Harrison....on Tues, both Cosgrove & another sub were wearing Franklin shirts so I wasn't entirely sure who was actually who. Also, matters were not helped by the fact that several of them are rather stout & sport particularly dodgy blond highlights

Good news for Notts, Durham are on ethe verge of a crushing defeat, keeping them in the relagation battle with Yorkshire, who have a slight edge over kent after 2 days

Why didn't Somerset play today? Turned up after five hours of sunshine and wind only to be confronted by Mr.Caddick in a suit.. Everything seemed pretty dry to me!

Travis Birt looks a real class act; I've just seen him bash 80-odd at better than a run a ball vs Gloucs in the Pro40. He lifted Ian Fisher back over his head for one of the most mouthwatering, cleanest struck sixes I've ever seen. Shame no-one else can bat for Derbyshire.

Yeah watched that Birt innings, boy does he hit the ball hard, ****ing murdered the ball. Though he was facing an attack of hardly any note, if it was not for Derbyshire’s desire to field young kids and bat them at three, they probably would have won the game. But Birt looks a talent.

It's because of the lack of rain until now.....the top soil has absorbed all the water but the ground beneath that is so hard the water has nowhere to go. I think the run-ups are the worst....they don't want any injuries or risk having the turf ripped up because it's so soft.

Aww look, the children are ganging up on me - how cute. Presumably one of them hasn't reached that age where they're taught numeracy skills yet, but I'm sure they'll learn.

You mistake me for someone who cares about the values of individual scrabble letters.

In all todays controversy, Lancashire secured enough bonus points that they are dead level with Sussex with 3 games to play.

Lancashire have Warwickshire and Durham at home and Hampshire away.
Sussex have Hampshire at home and Kent and Notts away.

Hampshire(22pts behind) and Warks (24points) are not out of it yet but Sussex should probably be favourites, and Lancs have big injury problems now(Law has back trouble and Cork and Chapple were injured again today).
