Chilton continued to make some strange decisions today
Yeah, I was there. Why did he bat at three, clogging up the innings, and leave the in-form Marshall at number nine? With such little batting (only really two decent Twenty20 batsmen in Law and Astle), Marshall had to open. Not quite sure why Steven Croft got two overs as well.

Same things i was confused about, didn't help that I was sitting next to a yorkie mate.

Marshall was great with the ball again though

Does Watkinson have a fetish for making the batting tail as long as possible or is he trying to manufacture the glory years again?

im not sure what you mean, there was only keedy and newby who you would call tail enders.

4 batsmen (Law, Astle, Chilton, Horton), Keeper(Cross), Batting Allrounder(Croft), Bowling allrounders (Cork, Smith, Marshall) and Keedy and Newby.

The only other batsman we have available in the sqaud right now is Karl Brown, who is only just 18 and the likes of Marshall, Croft and Cross have been scoring a lot more runs in the seconds than him. Cross 557@72.12, Croft 349@49.85, Marshall 162@40.50.

Sorry little ignorant about lancs batting ability but i haven't seen much of those guys.

What's wrong with crook however?

Crook has just been told he is going to be released at the end of the season. At 25 and with Marshall overtaking him for the OD spinner-allrounder role, it was on the cards. He's not done much for the seconds this year either

So basically the 20/20 lot came at excatly the wrong time for lancs with injuries and call-ups?

You regularly attend second XI matches?

Wa-hey, Boring old notts finally playing exciting cricket, and doing it well, can someone tell me, has there ever been a double wicket maiden before in 20/20? Samit patel managed it last night in the 7 wicket win over Debys,

well you could say it came at exaclty the right time for us, its the only time of the year that there is only one competition on, its probably the competition supporters would put the least amount of emphasis on winning, and its also a good competition for youngsters to come in to the side for.

don't attend second xi games but try to keep up to date with how they are doing(currently top of the second xi championship but struggling in the trophy)

Cork and Freddy blowing Notts away - Freddy bounces a couple out, so Corky tries the same, remarkably getting it above shoulder height and succeeding... 13/4!

EDIT... Alleyne hit wicket bowled Flintoff - forced so far back by the pace and bounce that he stands on the stumps. Fred 2.5-0-4-3

looks like a lot of frustration being blown away. cue calls for him to be added to the test squad...

don't think Kent will be looking forward to facing him in the CC this week

Another Somerset game another big score from an Aussie (who must obviously be a mediocre player as Langeveldt says)

Fantastic to see the great man back & bowling with genuine pace & hostility. His 2nd over was an absolute belter. Poor old Franks was done up like a kipper.

Looks (dare I say it) a tad leaner than he had of late too. Think he's been puttimg in the hard yards in his absence.

Heh @ Somerset's 'bowling attack' with Andrew, Simon Francis and Trego in it.

Edit: Simon Francis' first over goes 446146
