Travis Birt's finally coming good for God's Own County - 160* with lots of fours and sixes and filthy slogging. Going great guns with Hassan Adnan at present (watch me put the mockers on it)

I was comparing them in terms of making the best of their ability, as opposed to someone like Ramps or Bell who're like a rabbit caught in headlights despite looking good etc. when it means nothing.
It's far too early to talk of Collingwood making the best of his ability. Making the best of your ability is going on to become a successful Test batsman despite limited talent. So far, Collingwood's managed to score one Test hundred despite limited talent - he's got a lot to prove yet.

Jaques, what a legend. And then some crazy stuff from Zaheer. From an Aussie point of view, it's good to see Cam White (108) and Travis Birt (181) put in some good scores as well as Jaques (who, according to Cricinfo, bettered his previous highest score of 243 by one whole run).

Warwickshire were starting to get on top with Knight and Trott together but Hodge and Keedy have pegged them back to 176-4 now. Hopefully we can get a few more quickly woudln't want to be chasing too many

great win for Lancs, puts us top of the table.

certain media pundits who were predicting relegation for us at the start of the season might want to revise their predictions now.

A good result at Lords next week would really send us in to the mid summer break in good shape

Just seen the film of Dominic Thornely losing it like a good un in the C&G against Sussex last night (missed it first time around) - absolutely hilarious.

Looks like it'll be two hefty fines in a week for my second-favourite Dominic, but I hope not.

For those of you who missed it, he made a mess of a skier on the boundary. This moron in the crowd gave him big verbals, and Thornely lost it completely, hurling his cap at the bloke.

Top bloke.

In other news, Shane Warne has openly accused James Kirtley of chucking:

"It was definitely hard when Kirtley was, um, bowling those yorkers,” Warne said, pausing very deliberately. “His action has been cleared, apparently, but I think they have to have a look at the process. We saw him in a second XI game earlier this season and his action today was completely different.”

Hampshire lost. You couldn't tell, could you?

Glamorgan look to take over Derbyshire's mantle. Collapsed to 56 against Kolpak/Bedfordshire United today - with Robert Croft the only batsman to make into double figures. After leading by 166 on first innings.
