good to see another Lancashire lad doing well for himself

just as long as he bowls short and wide rubbish when we play them next week and the week after

They've had lunch, and Lee Daggett (6/30) has removed 10 and 11. Durham all out 141.
What a performance - when the chips were down they pulled together and got a huge win :):):):)

good spell by Simon Marshall so far today 4-0-10-2, Derbyshire 109-5 in the 33rd, Cork has dropped a couple against his former country, including dangerman Birt.

Methinks the Lankys are just about to book their place in the final.

Corky 4-35, Derbyshire only made 193 and Lancashire are rockin' and rollin' along at 5 an over already.

Never mind - this year, just as long as I keep my avatar, it's all good.

nice win today, doesn't change much, we still have to go to Warwickshire and win and its not a happy hunting ground for us.
True and it wont be helped by the absense of Chapple, but Lancashire have been playing well so hopefully a good result is on the cards when they go down to edgbaston.

Not the way we've been playing in ODs this year.

And that assumes we've got a fit 11!

Action from the third day. Apart from White, who was unlucky in the second innings, Somerset had no answer to Sillence and Batty (well supported by Ray- he never has any luck and could have taken three or four wickets), and they deserve to lose this match.
some good photos there

How exactly was he allowed to play today when pretty much every other man picked wasn't?
Pretty much every other man was in the development squad which gives England control over resting etc. The only ones not in it were Chapple, Bresnan and Dalrymple.

Yorkshire didn't have a game, I presume as Middx were already out they weren't bothered about Dalrymple.

not really a loophole, the whole purpose of the development squad is to designate the players that can be rested on the orders of the England managment. Chapple isn't in the squad therefore as long as he is able to meet up with the ODI squad at the designated time(8.00pm Sunday) it's okay. Lancashire had a helictopter to take Chapple from the game to the team meeting so he would have leff before the end of the game if it hadn't finished early.
