Great day for Hampshire i was fearfull when Middelsex were out for 98 that Hampshire would get a similar score and there was a danger of points deduction because of the pitch but 185-4 is pretty good and hope to get about atleast a lead of 150.

Decent performance by Lancs under the cosh. Looked at the sky this morning and thought 'hope we win the toss' but it wasn't to be. Keedy seems to have bowled pretty well but Kent have 2 spinners and bat low down so it'll be hard. We hung in there earlier and now getting back in to it. Gojo out for 29.

Likely to rain friday saturday so a draw on the cards neway

Wheels fell off for Derbyshire. 247/1 -> 268/7, against the might of Robert Croft and Dean Cosker...
Aye.

It was actually 247-1 when I was getting ready to go home - next update they'd gone to 247-3. I've just got home and - well, it wouldn't be Derbyshire if they didn't go tytzup every now and again.

Two wickets for Cullen, good start for him at Somerset. You'd expect him to have a tough season given that the pitch there isn't likely to help him, though.

Gillespie and Hoggard opening the bowling for Yorkshire. Pretty fearsome attack for county cricket, you'd think.

Strong chance that McGrath may have a stint in county cricket this season, expectedly many clubs would push to have him, but i wonder if he will want to change clubs again presuming he does come.

Makes mental note to buy couple of radio-controlled cricket balls.

the Third Ali scoring a fifty today, since he actually plays for a proper county he might have some talent :p
After 2 failures, maybe this Ali is actually going to be good?

Not so sure how there's a strong chance with his wife still ill and the new rules on overseas players being a lot more stringent...

McGrath was interviewed the other night and his intention is to resume cricket at the Champions Trophy if the treatment for his wife goes as planned. His wife wants him to resume cricket because it brings a semblance of normality back to their life.

It was a very Tasmanian esque collapse by Derbyshire, I know the feeling well. Birt is a carbon copy of Michael Slater. Short, stocky build, strong, agressive, powerful striker, inconsistant.

Ian Bell at first change, most bizarre, but the seam attack seems to be doing the business up at Trent Bridge.

Is Benning just a county slogger or is he a future England prospect? He'll be averaging over 40 in FC cricket when his latest innings is included, at a very fast rate, which is usually the sort of players England go for.

Looks like strauss has found a bit of form in the second dig - 95* as i type

England A now 70-2 after Cooks early dismissal, you could say was 'initialised'

Lancs doing well, think the weather may hamper any victory thoughts though. Chilton has brought up his ton (he never goes on though) and Horton is doing well.
