Travis Birt has.

He had a huge Pura Cup season for Tasmania, and is by all accounts a big talent. One to watch this season for Derbyshire, I'd say.
Birt didn't come in until the score was 101

Might it have been that it wqas bowler-friendly conditions with all the rain around and that?
actually it stopped raining about 10 this morning, the start was delayed and by the time Lancashire got to bat it was fairly sunny, and the day finished with barely a cloud in the sky.

dissapointing day for Lancs, but kudos to Bruce, almost identical figures to Smith.

So 46 behind with 4 wickets in hand, Chapple and Cork at the crease, Smith to come who can bat, Newby is decent aswell(has a ton in the second XI). Hopefully we can eke out a lead.

I was so pleased as we approached 50 without loss....

Now Im worried

Maher gone for 25

59/2

I wouldn't be too worried 401/5 at stumps - Muchall batted really well on a slow pitch, with good contributions from all around - But I would expect batting to be pretty good throughout.

I went to the days play and got a few photos which I'll put up on the site soon for you.

Why did Jonathan Trott bowl for Warwickshire against Sussex?
I assume you mean why didn't he, and the simple reason is he's not as good as the rest of our bowlers by a long way.

Bell would've bowled ahead of him as well if he'd been playing.

It sickens you that 2 unrelated people go to great expense in terms of time and money to travel a long way to go and support him in a pretty meaningless game?

:) I've got a chance to go to the Championship game at Old Trafford today, from about one-ish.

1. Anyone in Manchester know what the weather's doing?
2. Does anyone get to go in the pavillion for Championship matches?

Morning folks!

Been doing some Uni work this morning and have just turned the computer on and you can imagine my delight when I saw the score was still driving up. 476/5 with Muchall on a doubler and Mustard on his century.

As someone said above, this is a dream start to the season.

Providing we keep in, when do you think is a ggod time to delare? Id say anywhere above 500 and we should think about it because with a totallike that we are in a great position to win

And to think,I was worried about getting off to a bad start

A couple of immediate thoughts .....

The Surrey "attack" is looking as pitiful as ever. :@
Comes to something when Derbyshire can plunder you for over 400 at this time of the year. Considering the size and resources of the county, the number of bowlers produced by Surrey over the last 15 years is appalling. You're talking about Tudor. And nobody else, apart from a couple of allrounders.

The only worse scenario seems to be supporting Somerset. I'll let their guys ponder what is worse - their bowlers going for 450ish at Bristol or their batters subsiding to 90 for 6.

Always assume it's raining in Manchester and have a nice local pub in mind.
He's 15. Revise part b). Take your Wisden and learn some of the scorecards, George.

Bowling O M R W
Ormond 32 8 93 2 (1w)
Akram 3.2 0 17 0
Azhar Mahmood 28.4 10 69 5 (1nb)
Clarke 17 0 94 0 (1nb)
Doshi 34.4 4 120 0
Salisbury 20 2 62 0

Those are the Surrey figures at this moment. Azhar Mahmood has bowled well but no-one else stands out.

As for Somerset, given how bad Gloucs. were with the bat last year indicates how awful the Somerset attack must be
