*Official* English Domestic Cricket 2012

Huh.

Tune into Notts/Durham expecting to see fireworks with the former chasing 310 and Lumb and Hales opening, so obviously the first over goes for one run.

EDIT: & Lumb goes skying the first ball of the second over. Hideous swish across the line.

LOL fair play to Rushworth he's bowled well but come on Notts what are you doing out there, they look clueless.

Apparently he's going over 90mph more often than not. Incredible how England churn out the genuine quicks.

Should probably support Glos here - three Oxfordshire connections in the team (Young, Taylor, Batty).

Not quite the same game as yesterday, though.

FFS Sky. How about giving some credit to the bloke who tweeted you to tell you who the Impi were?

Plagiarising bastards.

Mills is a top lad too, by all accounts. As I may've mentioned my boss's boss is his club captain at Mildenhall CC. Never held a cricket ball until he was thirteen; complete natural.

Haha was that you?

Also no doubt they were referring to a robelinda video just then.
Who else is that sad?!

It's not actually a robelinda - but you can have a look here if you want to.

I'm interested as to what other sports/etc Mills did pre-13.

Basketball and rugby IIRC, suppose the height lends itself to both. The PE teacher at his school (whose name escapes me) is a massive cricket fan and introduced him to the game.

I'll ask next time I see his captain, if you're interested.

Well as you probably know, I don't think "natural talent" is a particularly valid descriptor. Size and prevalence of fast-twitch muscle fibres are a significant contributory factor but the biggest factor in consistency of execution, i.e. repeatability, and that can only ever come from thorough deep practice.

Right, let's have a watch of his bowling. Not entirely sure I am that impressed: fairly ugly action and doesn't look at all repeatable: this over has been all over the shop and you can't do that at this stage of the game. It's a bit reminiscent of Sohail Tanvir in terms of exploding onto the scene and then fading away, as well as being heavily T20/OD specialist. I wonder what his injury record might be like. Doesn't look like Kane Williamson rates him either...

Feel free to bookmark this post if he ever turns out good.

Netherlands hoist the 300 in the final over. Some of the gloss taken off by the fact that none of the runs was scored by an actual Dutchman, though it ill behoves an England fan to point that out. At least the bowling is pretty much home-grown, including Ahsan Malik or M Jamil as he sometimes appears.

And tbf to Bukhari he's never played any first-class or List A cricket in Pakistan, so it's fair to assume he's been settled in the Netherlands for quite a few years.

What are we thinking about Master Taylor's action then? Far old bit of elbow in there to my eyes...
It's absolutely horrific, isn't it? :yucky:

Wish commentators would have the guts to call it when you see it on the slo-mo like we did there.
