Don't be too disappointed. Trust that you will see Corey Collymore play international cricket again. Also, how can he be the luckiest player in this series? I await you explanation keenly. This should be good.
he said HASN'T been the luckiest :) not was the luckiest.

gough - the old warhorse is back and despite having a one off game in the last odi he performed brilliantly yesterday and was the best bowler from either side in the series. darren gough demonstrated how to bowl in an odi with a classic over in the 1st odi in st lucia where he bowled 6 inswinging yorkers(or thereabouts). 8.5/10
Ridiculous. Gough was quite average throughout most of the series. He only was truly outstanding in the 7th ODI.

Fair enough, but when Gough gets hit about so do the rest of the England attack. You've got to wonder a bit though when relative newcomers like Rampaul perform better than him.
Ok. Well Dillon has not been earth-shattering in this series, but he's been solid. In yesterday's game he was taken apart by some whirlwind strokeplay from Trescothick. There really wasn't much that he could do then. He really had just one horrible match. In Antigua he started poorly in the second match, but came back quite well. In Guyana he bowled extremely well, with little success, having Strauss edge past slip and the Trescothick drag one past his stumps for 4 more.

Rampaul has impressed me for someone so young. He seems to have a natural line and length thats very much suited to the one day game (similar to Kyle Hogg at Lancashire). But like Hogg i just feel he needs to add a yard of pace, which im sure he will do over the next 2-3 years.

this is probably the worst english squad ive ever seen.
clarke- havent we had enough of him or has his recent performances impressed you so much?
batty- clearly we dont need such an ordinary spinner in english conditions let alone 2 of them(giles)
solanki - i think the selectors too have given up in him....hes just not international class.
kabir ali - from what ive seen of him hes been very ordinary....there are much better bowlers in county cricket.

i certainly hope that we see some young fast bowlers in the side instead of batty and ali and 2 specialist batsmen(ian bell perhaps?) in place of solanki and clarke.

here are his figures for the series:

2/22(6),0/45,1/67,1/45

bar the 6th odi the other 3 are excellent figures especially if you consider how flat the 5th and the odi pitches were and the fact that he was bowling in the slog overs.

But then you look at the bowling itself and somehow find a way past the figures. He has been good, but to say that he's anywhere near as good as he was even a year ago is ridiculous. Gough no longer has the pace to trouble batsmen and all he really has is variation. Admittedly it's good variation, but he's not generally going to get much with that either, unless the pitches have some help in them. The Barbados pitch had some extra bounce and pace for the first 20-25 overs of the West Indies innings before flattening out. The Guyana pitch was quite slow and the ball didn't come onto the bat for the batsmen to dominate.

All that said, Gough should definitely continue to play for England in ODI cricket. For one, he'll be much better in English conditions. Two, he's a solid experienced bowler and still England's best in ODI cricket.

yes but i havent mentioned that he is anywhere as good as he was a year ago, clearly he has lost a lot of pace, although i dont think he has lost all that much since last year. the difference was that last year he bowled in england and now hes bowling in the WI, the wickets are completely different.
those figures are pretty good particularly considering that he bowled in the end of the innings and despite all the comments that hes past his prime etc, he still was the best bowler on either side.

Bell is not good Enough for England, what is wrong with my squad it more or less the same as the one that was touring in the West Indies

bell is not good enough while batty and clarke are?so exactly what did batty and clarke do on this tour that impressed you so much that you want to give them more chances?
and its not as though our ODI squad came out with flying colours in the WI, we nearly lost (only tresco saved us)!!

Vikram Solanki has scored a 1 day century and 2 50s. It took Hussain 100 caps to do that
btw hussain had 16 50s and usually batted at no 4. regardless hussain isnt the benchmark for comparing ODI batsmen because he didnt deserve a place in the side without his captaincy.

To be fair to Batty, he did bowl quite well. IMO he bowled better in Antigua than Giles did in the earlier Tests. In the 6th ODI he was also outstanding.

It had credibility until the Worcestershire element came in.
