MOTS a lock for Jayawardene you'd have thought, but a shout out to Swanneh who seemed to be under some pressure from certain quarters pre-series and took 16 @ 22. WAG.
Herath took 19 @ 18 and was easily the bowler of the series as he had **** all support

Inclined to agree. Not just how many he scored but how he scored them too.

Two thoughts:

1) We must always play Bresnan; did almost literally nothing but...
How many tests & wins is that now? And how many is the record?

With home tests against WI to come ...

Strauss is safe for the time being as he's only the fourth or fifth worst batsmen in the top six. Until we get an established #6 and/or Bell recovers from his slump/continues with his reversion to the mean I think he's good.

It's still a legitimate question though and the circling of the wagons from Team England ("How dare the press entertain the thought of dropping Sir Andrew?! He plays like the bastard offspring of Jardine & Hobbs!!") after four straight defeats (all due to batting, pretty much) has been slightly unedifying.
Agreed. Fine to enjoy the win, but if they're getting arsey about the criticism of their batting, then they really have learnt nothing.

Swanns return to form was almost exactly at the point that Panesar put down those two catches.

Good job Monty, taking one for the team by relieving the pressure on Swann.

I think Swann was more impressive - not least because I actually watched the matches and know how much better than Herath he bowled - but also because Sri Lanka batted much better against Swann than England did against Herath.

10 review and not single one successful i thought we where the worst in this.

Good performance by umpires only 3 of their decision was reversed out of 22
Think you've hit the nail on the head with the second sentence there. The DRS is out to prevent the absolute howlers. When the umpires don't make howlers then there's not going to be and calls overturned!

Difficult to weigh up really, Swann was bowling to the better players of spin but Herath was a one man band. Both did really well though and deserve credit for that. A series draw was a fair result and neither of the main spinners deserved to be on a losing side the way they bowled.
