when I was posting about 200 before it was more what is possible, rather than what is probable. But sooner or later a team is going to need or want to chase 200 in the last session of a test. 6 an over for 30 overs is well within the bounds of possible these days, and I'd say even on a 5th day strip.

Maybe it in exceptional circumstances it could, not tomorrow though but hopefully we will not need it though.

Jimmy is going to get Mahela tomorrow morning.

I'm not even using history here, there's things like the lack of restrictions which would allow negative bowling and widespread fields.

Look, I surrendered the argument to you, it's one I can't win. Yet this will happen one day, mark my words.

It's not as simple as that. I think something like 200 in 30 overs here would be heavy odds against in this Test because the pitch just isn't that conducive to hitting.

In other situations it would be very doable, more so in England or New Zealand I reckon where the outfields are fast, the playing areas are small and the pitches don't tend to wear much. Also particularly if a drop-in pitch is used. There are plenty of high run-rate chases in County Cricket, it just isn't that easy to restrict runs unless the pitch plays a part. England's middle/lower order hammered the ball around in declaration chases on many an occasion, the opportunities to chase something like 200 in 30 overs just hardly ever comes up.

A bit different but England chased 50 down in 6 overs and did it with an over to spare:

Think England will be chasing around 150, and in that case they really should win it. Not that I don't want them to screw up.
