Broad has bowled at Indians, and is English. Makes him ****ing ****.Broad's bowling over his last 8 Tests has been h4x, and he's bowled at better batsmen and in tougher conditions than Philander.
#BuuuuuuuuuurnEngland should have tried a new bowler maybe. Briggs? He would have been better than Swann.
Can't help but feel there's a slight over-reaction here. I mean, he dropped a massive skier. Yes he should have taken it, but he's not the first person and he won't be the last to stuff up a skier. Yes the fact he missed another one moments before - once again, not first and won't be the last to miss one like that, makes it funny as crap. But it seems we're going a bit over the top here. I mean 'No professional cricketer should field that badly.' is just crazy. He had a bad day...remember when KP had a bad series of catching?
Did Tufnell's fielding ever improve? Is Panesar Tufnell Mark 2?It's close. I can't remember what Walsh's catching was like, would rather have can't throw than can't catch I think.
Walsh was a much better catcher than Monty. It's close. I can't remember what Walsh's catching was like, would rather have can't throw than can't catch I think.
Is that you Geoffrey?Walsh was a much better catcher than Monty.
My grandmother is a better catcher than Monty. She's 90 and is getting over pneumonia, and walks with a frame.
Crisp, I imagine. My ginger freckle-y little brother is there, I hate to think how he is.
Ha ha! this is not even his home turf. Wit and see what he can do on SSC pancacke if there was a test.So now we know what it takes to stop the English bowling attack in their tracks - Mahela Jayawardene on his home turf.
The man is a beast.
No, going into the match with two frontline batsmen who can't cope with accurate spin bowling will cost England the match, not the dropped catches of someone who actually brings something to the table in his primary suit.this was always going to happen with monty. he has massive lapses all the time in county cricket. he seemingly works hard on it in practice just he seems to have no kind of ability. The fact is he's going to miss ~50% of his chances that come his way. I hope after this tour I never see him in a england shirt again.
Its embarrassing and there's a good chance it's going to cost england this match
Why?I think it's somewhat ridiculous and a sad indictment of the modern game that someone like Jayawardene, as easy on the eye as his batting is, has 30 Test centuries.
When you don't rate a player highly and he doesn't do well in test cricket then test cricket is the real test.I think it's somewhat ridiculous and a sad indictment of the modern game that someone like Jayawardene, as easy on the eye as his batting is, has 30 Test centuries.
Minor point, but from the class of 2005 Simon Jones' average is superior.Jimmeh's 3 wickets take him past 250 wickets, making him only the 6th English bowler to pass the milestone. He's also taken more wickets at a better average than the class of 2005.
Swann will have more lefthanders against SA, which should help. OTOH he may not be needed much against WI in the first half of the season - you can see our quicks cleaning up without too much bother.Swann's form starting to get a little worrying, good job he has Windies at the start of the summer to give him some confidence, can't see Panesar being anything other than a liability against SA. Bresnan, Broad, Anderson, Finn?
I think it's amazing how he has only 30 centuries.I think it's somewhat ridiculous and a sad indictment of the modern game that someone like Jayawardene, as easy on the eye as his batting is, has 30 Test centuries.
Jones was cut down in his prime.Minor point, but from the class of 2005 Simon Jones' average is superior.
Doesn't alter the bigger picture, of course.
