I think you're underrating just how mind bogglingly good the pair of them have been ever since the 1st Test against India.

I definately think they have been very good, just not as good as the Steyn/Philander combo. As I said though the difference between the two at the moment isn't that much, but I personally think Anderson and (in particular) Broad are at the peak of their game right now and won't be able to maintain that level as consistently as Steyn and Philander.

Anderson's been consistent for 3 years now. His last series where he averaged more than 30 was the 2009/10 tour of South Africa.

Yeah he has polio, I listened to an excellent interview on ABC during the Aus vs India series. Just a remarkable achievement that he had such a distinguished Test Career, obviously he was more noted for his bowling then his batting and fielding.

BTW - I think 289/8 for 8 is quite even, but since Sri Lanka's bowling attack is weaker, they really needed to get 350 to 400 as a pass mark. Still after being 23/3 they've done ok.

Yeah I know. Anderson is a much improved/consistent bowler than he used to be, that's for sure, but I don't think he'll be averaging low 20's (like in 2010/2011) over the rest of his career. He isn't that good.
