*Official* England in South Africa Thread

well I would say that this game is only just tipping SA's way now.Of course is tomorrow they get a few quick runs at the start, things will be different, but I dont really think this SA batting line up is too hot,and all but Kallis of the big names have gone now, so England may only need a quick wicket tomorrow and the pressure is back on SA.

I get the feeling that chasing much more than 150 might be tough in the fourth innings (what it now,the pitch will settle into a strip of concrete ideal for batting on)

I don't understand; what's the deal with Hashim Amla? Do the Saffies have an amish quota now as well?
AFAIK, the Muslim Asian population is part of the "previously disadvantaged" sect.. They certainly didnt have the rights that the Afrikaaner and British population had.. So yeah they would probably come under the quota system..

The dropping of Tsolekile for AB was certainly a welcome prod for the quota debacle anyway...

That only happend cos Gibbs counts as black in the quota system. If he hadnt got in the team then the keeper would have kept his place and De Villiers would have probably gotten dropped. Silly really :-O

With the final strike at the death of the day, England have kept the game's door open and will retain hope of troubling the hosts' inexperienced middle order tomorrow to restrict their lead to below 50. Should England do so, and follow up with a patient, determined second innings - avoiding any further injudicious hooking - a fourth innings run chase of 200 will be a very taxing proposition.

It's advantage South Africa, but it's by no means all over yet.

Top post, yes SA are on top, but not by epidemic proportions, like people seem to be saying.

Just saw the highlights

Good bowling by hoggie and steve

Poor Ashley...he must be black and blue :-O
It was a top spell of fast bowling by Dale.. Yeah it was painful to watch Ashley hobble around.. Im not sure I would have been too distraught at getting out like he did

:@ at the SA bowlers :D
Its also :@ from the SA bowlers isnt it? I've never seen glaring like that since the champion Donald let it all go against England in '98
Steyn better hope he doesnt turn out into a toungue waggler like Andre Nel.. I guess short people are generally more agressive though..

Oho! I'm loving this cricket... love to see bowlers dominate, although some of the shots from England were extremely poor.
