England work hard at making sure their main bowlers don't get injured in the first place. There's only the taff that's injury prone, Harmison and Flintoff used to be but as I said, they've worked hard at this by modifying actions etc.
And is Jones really that injury-prone?

In case results don't go upto expectations, Fletcher might add another chapter on his book about unsporting wickets, usage of poor quality balls, bad spicy food, boredom ..etc

His complaints will never end.

You bet..in any case, it seems that all the copies of his book would still be available for that.

Well everyone knows Shoaib and Inzy have the biggest egos in cricket bar Jacques Kallis, so that can't be what you're claiming is "pure rubbish". .
everyone = Barney Rubble ? And I agree with Yohana, that was 'pure rubbish'.

The other thing is how hard the Pakistani tour is for a Western country. Teams don't tend to enjoy Pakistan as much, and I don't think that it's a coincidence that Australia's white-washing of Pakistan on their last "Away" tour occurred at neutral venues.

IMO, this has also had a lot to do with nations pulling out recently, in addition to the "danger" of Karachi, it tends to be a tougher tour for the players than India or Sri Lanka.

I agree with Yohanna, I think Barney is going overboard with his theory of Pakistan not being a team and 'full of egos'. Plus to say they only have one or two decent players... well I think you'll be surprised. Even if England do go on to win this series, you're still totally underestimating Pakistan.

Yeah, they r making the same mistake which India made & they had to pay for it in the end. Many former Indian & Pakistani cricketers including Sarfaraz Nawaz,Aamer Sohail,Intikhab Alam,Sanjay Manjeraker,Sunil Gavaskar made predictions like "Pakistan will have to suffer from a white wash in India without Shoaib Akhtar" & all of them were taken to task by the media after all of their predictions proving wrong. Moreover,English team is less stronger as compared to that of India & thats why I can safely say that the test series will be either 2-1 to Pakistan or 1-1 draw.Even many people on this board made predictions which proved totally wrong.

The English are so full of themselves. One Ashes series win and they're already talking themselves up as the next great team

Maybe they should stop writing their autobiographies and focus on the task at hand.
Australia have already started preparing for the revenge series in 2006/2007 ---- England is going to have one hell of an onslaught coming there way.

Nice way of generalising the views of a few forum posters as the views of all of us :)

Of course we're on a high. We just beat our most HATED (in a nice way :D) enemy. Coupled with the fact the Aussies had spent the previous 2 months saying how much they'd thrash us made it even more enjoyable :)
No one (especially the England team itself) is going to think we'll walk the series. But i do have confidence that England will win the series 2-1. Bring. it. on.

Agree with all of that. I can't see Pakistan putting up much of a fight, but India will prove tough, especially with Tendulkar back. .
Completely agreed !

I don't think Pakistan has the talent and the potential to stand up against the Emglish team, i think Collinwood has said what we all are expecting to happen, a 3-0 whitewash of Pakistan at the hands of England.

India on the other hand will provide England with tough resistance, and i would say that England will have to play real good cricket if they hope to even draw the series.

Lets compare the two teams,

Strauss/ Malik ........................ Strauss is miles ahead
Trescothick/ Butt ..................... Trescothick, no comparison
Vaughan/Younis ...................... Vaughan on any given day
Bell/ Inzamam ........................ Inzamam
KP/ Youhanna ...................... KP
Flintoff / Asim......................... Flintoff
G Jones/Akmal ..................... Both are average
Harmison/Shabbir.................. Harmison
Giles/Danish ...................... Danish has slight edge
Hoggard/ GULL .................. Hoggard
Anderson/Akhtar ............... Akhtar if he's fully fit

Thats pretty much sums everything.
England to win 3-0 for sure.

Come how could you say Pakistan dont have the Talent & Potential to stand up to England??? Of course they do they have a very talented side with heaps of potential. Once Pakistan play well as a unit they will be very difficult customers in home conditions, only if they dont this england side may well & whitewash other than that it would be foolish to think to a 3-0 whitewash is a foregone conclusion.

With reagrds to India i think England will do EXTREMELY well to win in India especially sine they are going their in Februaury/March when the heat is at its highest & the pitches are seemingly more spinner friendly. But if they do win in Pakistan & with the likely return of Simon Jones who's ability to reverse swing the ball IMO will become even more important in India, they will have a fighting chance of winning...

Nobody is full of anything people are just stating facts; England has a better team and will be slight favourites in the Tests, with Jonah in the side we would've been bigger favourites.
Touring Pak is difficult though and I expect all the games to be very hard to win, but at the back of it all quality should out. I expect us to lose the ODI series, but win the Test series. I am not arrogant and certainly the England team isn't, I just have confidence in this side and so does Barney by the looks of it. After beating all before us for two years, including Australia the best team in the world, perhaps this confidence isn't misguided.

Also you seem to lump fans/players/Zimbabwean coach into the same pot when talking of "these English", you're simplifying matters and it does your debate a disservice old chap.

An Argentinian Aussie eh? I wonder why you keep having a go... :)

England to win 3-0 for sure.
Now lets compare England & India

Strauss/Sehwag.........................................Strauss is miles ahead
Trescothick/Gambhir...................................Trescothick,no comparison
Vaughan/Dravid..........................................Dravid is slightly ahead.
Bell/Tendulkar............................................Tendulkar is miles ahead
KP/Laxman................................................KP
Flintoff/Kaif or Yuvraj....................................Flintoff by a mile
Jones/Karthik or Dhoni.................................Jones is slightly ahead
Harmison or Jones/Pathan............................Both are miles ahead of Pathan
Giles/Harbhajan...........................................Both r average
Hoggard/Nehra.............................................Hoggard
Anderson/Zaheer/Balaji.................................Anderson

They may be able to make some runs,ut I don't see Indian attack taking 20 wickets in 3 matches.Even the Bangladesh or Zimbabwe's bowling line up is better than that of India.
