Younis Khan can go and shut up. That was two feet outside leg stump, of course it's a wide. If you bowl there you don't deserve to get any leniency.

Don't think he was trying to bowl it right out there, it just slid out ridiculously wide.

Now we've got two spinners on.

I disagree.

Hoggard can stay there for an hour with a top order batsman - thus allowing a lot more runs than if the Harmison and Jones go in and bat in their more expansive styles.

Then when Hoggy has wound the the bowlers up so much (remember that spell McGrath bowled to him in the Ashes?!), the other 2 can come in and attack them!
hmm thinking about it ur right...

Inzi's captaincy is very odd, he should get the new ball even if shoaib isn't injured bring on Shabbir dont see then sense in having two spinners on one bit..

Rana has made a complete and total dog's breakfast of that chance. You really, really can't drop sitters off people on 181.

Yet that is what the umpires have to do...
Well it's not - the umpire's view is in three dimensions. One of the reasons Tv is often very deceptive on LBWs is because it gives no indication of how far forward or back the batsman in. My initial impression on the Tres LBW, for example, was that he was in trouble because he was only half forward - a view which subsequent look showed to be incorrect. And the distance he was in fact down the pitch makes any umpiring decision guesswork.

Regardless, any similarities between what we see and what the umpire sees is why one should always have far more sympathy, IMO, for arguably dubious decisions given not out than those given out.

Is Kaneria not bowling well, or Eng playing him well. 1/100 sheesh what happened to Eng being hopeless playing legspin ;)
We did say that it was only Warney who we couldn't play! Kaneria's not bowling badly, but we're playing pretty well - Bell in particular was very assured with picking the variations.
