They've still scored at 3.81 an over. It's not THAT appalling a rate...Barney Rubble said:Well I'd say they'll give themselves absolute minimum five sessions to bowl Pakistan out, meaning it's more of a time thing than a runs thing - if they're still batting come mid-morning on Tuesday, they'll have around 650 on the board, and that'll be roughly when they'll declare, I'd say.
OK, I'm confused. What was wrong with my post? I miscalculated how many they'd have by Tuesday or something, didn't I?Samuel_Vimes said:They've still scored at 3.81 an over. It's not THAT appalling a rate...
I'm confused. Seemed reasonable to me - although doubt they'll go on to 650Barney Rubble said:OK, I'm confused. What was wrong with my post? I miscalculated how many they'd have by Tuesday or something, didn't I?
Me too, but I wouldn't bet against it.greg said:I'm confused. Seemed reasonable to me - although doubt they'll go on to 650
Nah, I think you're pretty much spot on. It wasn't to you really, just to those complaining about the rate.Barney Rubble said:OK, I'm confused. What was wrong with my post? I miscalculated how many they'd have by Tuesday or something, didn't I?
Couldn't agree more - Bell is certainly back in the driving seat for when Vaughany comes back.Samuel_Vimes said:Colly. Stick to ODIs, mate.
Based on one innings where the ball didn't do squat and he had all day to bat - and had several lucky escapes before making an earth-shattering 71. Oh let me guess, only Bell is allowed to attract a decent delivery - whereas Collingwood gets to bat in a no-win situation (yet again).Barney Rubble said:Couldn't agree more - Bell is certainly back in the driving seat for when Vaughany comes back.
I agree, bad decision proving very crucial. I'll also agree the bowlers don't look 100% up to it and short of practice, but I still think there was some poor captaincy involved and whether a bowler is 'match-hardened' or not, the amount of no-balls was a disgrace. I'm sure the Pakistani fans on this forum would be livid.social said:Another good day for Eng.
Billy's howler taking on huge proportions now.
I'll be charitable and say that the Pakistani bowlers arent match-hardened and hope they improve as the series goes on. Unfortunately, it wasnt just the bowling, but fielding and running between wickets. Eng have been infinitely more professional.

Well if Pakistan had caught their catches then the decision (good or bad - he was a long way forward and the ball turned pretty sharply) wouldn't have mattered.social said:Another good day for Eng.
