TBF, NZ were always unlikely. But if Sinclair and Taylor put-on 200, then we'll be worried again.
Not much chance of that happening. :p My prediction is that we'll be at least seven down at close. Gee Broad has bowled well today.

Nice drive down the ground from Sinclair, only another 195 runs to go!!
Time for a change at Collys end, done a decent job but lets have Jimmy or Siddy on now at the new bats.

Quick check on Fleming's scores this series....41 and 66, 34 and 31. Consistent but giving away starts. As well as hes played for his series average of 43, the same issues from the rest of his career have been truely exposed; his inability to kick on after making a start.

Sinclair before that four averaged 32.75 in his 46 innings against Test-class sides.

Remove his top 3 scores and he averages 19.97 from 43 innings. And he's made just three half-centuries and failed to do so forty times!

That's one hell of a lot of bad innings.

Nah not particularly. 214 against West Indies in his 1st Test innings wasn't especially remarkable, but a chanceless 214 is never something to be sniffed at. His double against Pakistan a year later was in a snorefest game but his 150* against South Africa was apparently on a seaming pitch and was something of a masterpiece.

Blimey the Kiwi DJs have developed a fondness for Vivaldi as the Tests have taken-over from the ODIs.

I have always had faith in Sinclairs ability. I think this must be the opportune time to show some form though otherwise he might have squandered his opportunity to become the class player that I think he is.

EDIT: Considering he may not be selected again if he doesn't do something

What were his good innings? Were they all against weak opposition?
His 214 against WI on debut was brilliant though on a good pitch against a weak-ish attack. The 204 against Pakistan was on a road again against a weak-ish attack. The 150 against SA was against a strong attack on a much more testing pitch, definitely his best innings in test cricket IMO.

Broad is so oddly polarised. So often really accurate, but has spells where he's also all over the place.

Anyone know much about the Parlane brothers?

Looking in decent nick Sinclair all things considered. Been strong off the back foot through point so far.

Parlane's are the journeymen of NZ Cricket. Unlikely to be selected for International Duty, as we tend to look at younger up and coming players.
Regardig the Vivaldi Music, Vivaldi is the National Bank's theme music so it all ties in nicely and is a bit more promotion for National Bank.
