I agree with you Sanz, its the longer form of the game where he's been struggling consistently, and that's what I just cannot figure out.

Hell just look at his little cameo at the end of the first test on day 5 when he was given free reign to play his shots, he looked a totally different batsman. But when he comes out at number 4 on day 1 or day 2, he doesn't play like the Sachin of the 90s and I don't think its all physical, a lot of it is mental. He's more himself in ODIs.

Monty will come around the wicket, bring one into the right-handed Dravid and get him out.

I hope. :D

Well, been saying this for years on this board....Sachin has very seldom delivered under pressure (unlike Dravid) and he is more into endorsements and money than cricket. It' all mental and Sachin lost it a long time ago. Every time I say this people jump down my throat - but look at the evidence. He needs to be DROPPED.... :@

Sachin seemed very heavy on his feet - terribly slow to get in line. Perhaps he doesn't really relish the short stuff any more?

wow what a score at this point !!!!! if ENG don't manage to get IND out by tea, its pretty hard to see a result otherwise..any scenerio in ENG's favor...also anyone else get the feeling that when munaf was bowling, he should've maybe bowled a bit shorter than what he was ??

I think they've sent in Kumble and Harbhajan before the debutants out of respect. Chawla's probably better than Kumble and Munaf's probably better than Harbhajan (or at least as good). Quite a deep lineup, let's hope they can carry on to 300 and beyond.

Chawla is an allrounder yet Harb and Kumble are being sent to bat ahead of Chawla.

The poor guy wasn't asked to much much and now he's not being properly utilized as a batsman.Maybe Chawla shouldn't have been played in this match atall.

I don't think its the respect thing, i think Dravid wanna play safe and don't wanna send a debutant to bat.

As long as its above 3.5 per over after tea I'm not too bothered. I think a match can still be made out of it. Granted its very likely it'll be a draw, but I think with only 5 sessions of cricket left, Dravid should be attacking by pushing the run rate and giving them ample time to bowl at England, and if all goes well have time to chase whatever is required. Optimistic yes but they may as well have a go.

Agreed. The run-rate will naturally be high from now onwards as these guys don't have Dravid's patience at the crease, even Kumble. We bowled out England for 300 despite dropping a few chances, so if Munaf can bowl the way he did in the first innings and the spinners can apply the pressure, I reckon they can fold for a low total.
