Yeah yeah I know, I was just asking in general Sanz, as in putting the question to people in this thread. I knew you weren't having a go at Dravid, how can anyone have a go at him?
He's probably not hitting enough sixes for Arjun.

England having played well in the test, a draw is very much as good as a victory for them despite the possibility of the win they had at the end of day 4.

Well played England and some thinking to do for India. Also, if you need 250 off 42 overs with 9 wickets left, why not go for it despite it being the first test?

Bowling - lot of discussion is bound to happen on it even though batting is the dillemna position right now. The pitch wasn't great for bowling for either team but India was far from impressive regardless of the fact.

I disagree. If this test ends in a draw, India should feel equally good especially after what happened on Day 4.

How did Ganguly come into this discussion ??

Btw I was not laughing @ Dravid's strike rate but at the frustration English bowlers must have been going through when bowling to the wall.  Please read my posts on Dravid in this thread before making stupid assumptions.
Vow, you are pretty easy to work out.

At first glance I thought you were mocking Dravid and this site and threads have tons of posts, so its not virtually posssible to note everyones comment; unless you put important one's in your sig

No smoke, he is indeed frustrating England

Which they in turn could thank Geraint for...
LOL true, true, as much as I like Jones he can be very frustrating, he seems to have greater difficulty with easier chances

I will put it ths way -

England and India both showed admirable fighting qualities in the match.

The pitch had a role to play in the draw considering it didn't wear as much, had slow turn, no great zip off the surface but it did give some thing to the bowlers who kept at it so it wasn't pathetic.

England had 40% of their A bowling line up missing (apart from batsmen who were made up for), India had every one to chose from. So I would say England has a lot more to be proud of than India given the circumstances.

While we certainly do have more to be pleased with, I just have a feeling we may rue missing this opportunity

Who would you choose as MOM?

Paul Collingwood (134* and 36*)
Alistair Cook (60 and 104*)
Matthew Hoggard (6-57 & the lone wicket in the 2nd innings)
Wasim Jaffer (81 and 84+*, still going strong)

but at the start of the test, I think it was widely considered India would easily win this one.
England definatly come out of this test with more credit

No India didn't have Yuvraj to pick from. Pitch didn't wear because of the heavy rain on the night of day 2 which (believe or not) helped Hoggy immensly(not taking any credit away from him though) on day 3 morning. If Jones was going to play there is good chance that Hoggard would have been carrying drinks. :)

India also had its new comers in Jaffer and Santh and they have done extremely well, Kaif came in and played a great inning under pressure along with Anil Kumble. I

Jaffer has already scored more than Cook, if he scores a century and India draws this one then him else Collingwood.

Also Hoggard did very well in the first innings, if he manages to get couple more here then it will be a tossup between him and one of Jaffer/Collingwood.

It was there mostly in the minds of English fans, I never thought for a second that India was going to have it easy( win or draw) despite the absence of Tresco and Vaughan.

Besides at the end of the 4th day there was only one team which was thinking of winning the test (and it was visible when the day started England had a very attacking field). The other team had only one thing in mind - SAVE the test which they have done so far.

If England win, yes they have come out with very positive outcome else I dont see then haveing any more advantage than India has had in this test.
