Requires Freddie to step up large. Still have some decent pace bowlers, but who knows what kind of wickets they will be on!
Its supposedly very brown and very dry.

I think that all hopes of England winning have flown home with Simon Jones.

I thought that Simon Jones is out for one test only and not for the entire series? btw nice pic of Jack Bauer.

His flown home to have it checked out but I don't think anyone rates his chances of coming back anytime soon.

Mine wouldn't. You'd need a job lot of Cillit Bang to get through it.

If you're after free money - India 4/6 to win in Nagpur, 4/9 to win the series, and 5/1 for the whitewash.

5-1 sounds good though Paddy Power offered me 12-1 two weeks ago. Weather should not be a problem, might have a punt on that now, warts and all.

My team for Nagpur, lots of batting, plan is to win the toss and bat for two days, then just bowl defensively and wait until the Indians get bored, wanna see lots of Blackwell around 60 overs worth, hopefully by then the game will be over and Blackwell might have shred around 10 pounds.

Strauss
Cook
Bell
Shah
KP
Flintoff
Jones
Blackwell
Plunkett
Hoggard
Harmison

If India bat first, lose by an innings would do.
i'm pretty sure Collingwood will play instead of Shah..

While this probably isn't relevant, I did see Tresco with his wife in town just before he left, and both were looking thoroughly miserable, which is unlike them.. Hope we dont have another Thorpe-like situation on our hands..

i dont get it.

anyway, i feel england will lose the series too. :D

but not pounded.

and hey, why do you guys swing from arrogance to hopelessness so quickly?
Show me my arrogance (or any other self-respecting England fan on here) and then you can say I've swung quickly.

You just sound like the same as a swath of idiots we've had on here recently which is odd as I don't think you are.

The Indians have taken a very inexperienced bowling attack. That is the silver lining IMO and all is not dark for England. At least that is the positive plus the experience of the Pakistan tour (even though many are now missing from this tour) to build upon.

Its going to be very tough but I hope they give a good fight some how.
I too hope that England put up a good fight in this series, but India haven't done them any favors with the bowling attack they've selected. The greatest gift the selectors could've given to the England batsmen was the inclusion of harmless Ajit Agarkar and Zaheer Khan. The fact that those two have been dropped alone is bad for England. Add to that the fact that the "inexperienced" replacements VR Singh and Piyush Chawla are dangerous bowlers. For once, every member of the bowling attack is penetrative. (chawla and vrv havent been tested at this level yet)
