Hoggard definitely DOES deserve another chance in the OD side, especially considering the depth of injuries England have at the moment.

He showed against India that he has developed an excellent slower delivery, extremely useful in the one day format. He also, (for the first time I'd ever seen), bowled a series of shorter deliveries, which he was able to trouble Sehwag with.

Also, I've gotta feel that unless he goes for a heck of a lot, that he bowls at least 8 overs up top without change, which takes advantage of batsmen being unwilling to play big shots early on and also use the bit of swing that there may be. That gives him a couple of overs a bit later in the innings if required, and if he gets carted then it isn't a disaster.

I'm not promising that it will work, but I think Hoggard has done enough in the last 12 months to warrant another chance.
I don't think he can be much worse than the likes of cannon fodder Kabir, although I just bet he ends up bowling on an absolute road.

I've already probably said it before, but commiserations on your location...

Nice article here on Ramesh Powar. Someone on CW recently called him "tubby". Well keep assuming that he's tubby, sluggish and harmless at your own peril.
I am one who believes Powar should be a permanent fixture in the one day side. If we are playing just one spinner, it should be him.

TEAM OF LOSERS:-O
Well they have a average OD team, (test team is really good though) problem is that they are playing against a team that is best in the world, and on par with Aussies!

Rahul Dravid has won the toss and India are going to bat first. It should be a high scoring game. England are without KP today.

AJIT AGARKAR IS BACK IN THE TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's going to take 10 wickets and score a double century.

Or he's going to go for 150 and take zero wickets.

I don't know why Ajit is back, Sreesanth is a much better prospect, he might have been a bit expensive in earlier matches but still i think he shouldn't have been dropped.

No KP? You serious?

Massive blow.
Well Agarkar is in the team as well, so another massive blow...this time it is to India though. Gambhir is out of the XI. Rahul opens the innings with Sehwag.

This is ridiculous.8-) 8-) 8-)

I don't understand this team selection at all. Agarkar should not have been in the team. If they wanted an extra bowler, it should have been Sreesanth.

I'm glad AA is back. This might well be his farewell match because I seriously think Vikram Singh is ready for the call-up upon which Agarkar can call it a career. Unless AA turns up another annoying 5-wicket performance, this might be it (hopefully it is).

WOrst thing for India would be for Agarkar to get 5 wickets. Cause then he'll be back another day and lose us a really important match.
