It's time the Indian Press laid into Chapell. No consistency. Brittle batting order. No specialist fielders. No one wants to really apply themselves and stick it out. They are looking to be the next "star" by hitting out. This young team lacks maturity. DoesGreg want thniking cricketers or simply 'disciples' who won't question his arbitrary shuffling. He MUST have been involved in the decision to bat in the 3rd Test ?

Sorry, I forgot, it's Ok to lose because India is preparing for the World Cup.

We have got 153 and 3 wickets in hand with 11 overs to go, I would like rest of the guys to bat remaining overs and at least get 200.

I don't know what this means:

Ganguly - 3, Chappell - 0

but I am with you 8-)

Well JustTool, I'm not sure about Chappell, but Srinath should certainly be sacked.
Well you are either being sarcastic or baiting me. Either way I am not playing today (seems like that's what Yuvraj said and did today !)

A score of 215+ will be a decent one, which can be defended if bowled and fielded brilliantly.

Everything depends on Dhoni now, hope the lad does well.

How do you know he had anything to do with those, though? Quite often it's the captain who decides the batting order, and it's always the captain who's out their deciding whether to bat or bowl.

No, 215 isn't defendable. India will win only if English batsmen gift their wickets.
Take a look at the Sri Lanka-Pakistan game. Sri Lanka all out for 185, then Pakistan all out for 176. I've no idea what the conditions are like where they're playing, so I could very well be wrong, but you shouldn't judge the Indian innings until you've seen the English one.

  • Already, Indiatimes is laying into Chappell, with laughably lame arguments
  • That brittle batting order has been far more conspicuous in the Wright era than now
  • Had thier attempt to "hit out" worked, we wouldn't see such comments– besides, we've also seen one sticky bloke too many in this Indian side
  • They are, still, a young team, unlike Indian teams of the recent past, full of swollen-headed "stars".
  • Are mickey-mouse matches of today more important than the pinnacle of ODI glory of tomorrow?
Take a hint. Look at what's gone well, for a change, won't you?

Sure. Why don't you give me a hint. Losing Tests to England and Pakistan you mean ? Or the ugliness with Ganguly. Or - why isn't MUNAF in the TEAM TODAY ? And as for today, I do hope someone does something the last few overs...

Look Indian fans have always found reason to cheer and make merry. "Never ask for more when you can get less" is the motto.

I'm not sure which one of those it is myself. The important thing is that Srinath is annoying the hell out of me.
Welcome to the Srinath-Haters Club. You can be president for this series. There will be a condolence meeting 20 minutes after every ODI.

There's 7 bloody games in the series... the first one isn't going to matter.
